Yup! it looks more like those white-out rolls where you roll it out and a strip of white-out remains...except in this case it is a strip of adhesive that remains. It is stronger than regular double-sided tape and also won't weigh as much as double-sided tape.
Depending on what type of cardstock it is, you could try photo squares (easy to apply) or 3M double-sided table (messier). We had a Petallics paper (similar to Stardream), and the photo squares wouldn't work. We used a 3M industrial strength double-sided tape that came on a giant roll, and you had to cut it apart (it would stick to the scissors...!), then stick and remove the backer paper. But if your paper doesn't have a shimmer/shine/sheen to it, you could probably get away with photo squares or a lower grade tape. HTH!
FYI: The Tombow ones broke pretty easily, but the 3M one was awesome, and I felt it was a bit stronger than the Tombow adhesive. However, both worked kept stuff stuck together! All of our papers were stardream too.
oohh thanks for this! I was going to ask the same question in a few weeks.
I was really thinking of doing those photo squares, LS. Our actual invite is on paper with a cardboard backing... but then there's a "gate" thing that holds it all together. I think it'd be better to have the guest be able to separate the invite from the backing.
