BYOB Reception Venues!? or Heck, Anything out of the ordinary works too!

I would love to find as many BYOB reception halls as possible, but am willing to go with a licensed bar tending service if the place is cool/cheap. I am open to ANY out of the ordinary ideas anyone may have! Help :)

The only one I found was the Profile Event Center, by the U of M campus.  You can bring in any of your own drinks, and they recommend hiring bartenders from the Minneapolis School of Bartending (I think it's only $12/hr or something) but you could serve your own too if you want.

Yeah, we are looking at that one (its the Fiance's favorite) but the date and day I want is a 7,500 food minimum. With tax and gratuity that equals over 9,000. Not including alcohol. I'm thinking about changing the date and book it with them if we can't find another space! Thanks for the response!

The Washington County Historic Courthouse in Stillwater is BYOB. You can't bring in hard liquor or kegs, though... just wine and bottled/canned beer.

It's also really cute and really inexpensive. You can use any licensed caterer, which also can save you a lot of money.

I can send you the spreadsheet I made with details and policies on, like, 37 venues that are along the lines of what we were looking for. If you want it, PM me with your email and I'll send it along!

We went with the Little Log House Village Hall and are SO excited. They do the bartending, but its incredibly reasonably priced and there is no minimum. They also allow any licensed caterer to bring in the food. If you like 40-foot wood beam ceilings with wrought iron chandeliers and don't mind it being out in the country (Hastings), check it out!

Summit Manor lets you BYOB.  You just have to hire one or two of their bartenders, depending on how many guests you have.

Uppercut Boxing Gym in NE mpls is just that, a boxing gym... in an awesome old warehouse. The space is amazing. You bring in your own caterer and can do your own liquor, too. Worth a look if you are after a venue that is something unique and unexpected.

I second Blaisdell - their food is created from scratch so you can pretty much have whatever you want.  It's fantastic.

you could try the Binz Refrectory on the Univ of St. Thomas campus.   It doesn't seem to be very well known.  The food is relatively inexpensive and you can BYOB but you need to hire one of their bartenders.

We're using the Elm Creek Chalet in Maple Grove. They allow you to bring your own beer/wine in bottles and cans (no kegs or hard liquor). You do need to pay a bit extra for "security" to do this if you're serving it after 7pm
