Let the stalking begin! PIB

We sent our invites out today! They are completely DIY (PIB). Now time to stalk the mailbox!

We were cutting it pretty close to the latest we should send them out (I'm one of those people who work best close to the deadline--at least that how I rationalize my procrastination...haha).  But, we sent out STDs and most of our guests are in town and see us on a regular basis.

I am really proud what we accomplished.  FI and I literally sat down Friday night to start printing and cutting.  We started to put stamps on them Sunday evening, and sent them out today. I still can't believe how quickly we got them done!  Neither of us have really ever worked with paper crafts before, so this was definitely a learning experience.

So many of you are crafty and creative, so let me know what you think! :)

Wow congrats! That is such a huge accomplishment! I have been working on my invites for months so to get them done in a weekend is huge!!! They look great too!

Well done! They look awesome. I can barely devote myself to stamping RSVP envelopes, nonetheless making my own invites, so color me impressed.

PHEW! That must be a huge relief! (I know it was when I sent all of mine out!). I would never know you've never attempted a paper craft before! They look awesome!

I am considering doing ours myself... but with such a large guest list i may skip it and keep my sanity LoL

Love them! I am amazed that you finished these all in one weekend- I agree with the PP's- they don't look DIY at ALL!

Aw thanks everyone! Way to make a girl feel special :)

The most difficult part was finding a corner swirly stamp I liked, which is why I ended up getting one of those kits to carve my own.  I wouldn't reccomend that to my worst enemy (unless it's a small, simple stamp), it took about the length of 2 movies to get done and my hands and neck were so sore after!

My saving grace was definitely the fiskars paper cutter and the bone folder (borrowed from FMIL). They are a must for DIY invites. The bone folder I used is from Martha Stewart, and it's like the swiss army knife of crafting.  There are about 6 different tools in one, and I used just about everyone of them...total time saver!

I'm not sure I'll ever want to do something of that scale again.  But FI and I got some quality time together, so it evens out :)

Also, to anyone thinking about adding the crystals; our invites were less than an ounce but we had to pay for the 64c stamps because they couldn't go through the machines (despite our envelopes still being thinner than a birthday card and the envelopes being stuffed in a way that they wouldn't tear it open.../> rant).

People are getting them already, and it's totally exciting!

    wow, amazing job!
I LOVVE the swirly stamp you put in the corners!
(I might swirl-stamp my placecards, programs, and menus.)

They look amazing!  Also, I stalked the rest of your bio while I was checking out your invites, and your dress is absolutely beautiful!

    Thanks KittE7 & NicoleR77!
I got my white paper from Paper Depot (stardream in quartz) and the champagne was actually found by FMIL cousin through her company (after months of looking). But the next time we went to PD they carried it, it's pearlized cocoa.
