My CRAZY Boudoir Pics Adventure!

So yes, ladies, I sucked it up, pushed out the nerves, and went and got boudoir pics taken yesterday! And oh my goodness, what a day!

First of all, I live in St. Cloud, though my wedding will be in the cities. I got tons of recommendations off of these boards and chose Callie V to take my pictures. I booked her this past winter and set the date for yesterday to get them taken. After shopping for outfits and looking at inspiration pics for months, me and two bridesmaids made the 1 hr and 40 min drive at 8:00am to Cottage Grove where the studio Callie rents is located. I and the other passanger bridesmaid drank Arbor Mist out of water bottles to help chill me out/loosen me up on the way down.

We finally pulled up to studio at 9:40am (hair and make up were scheduled with Amber B from Smart and Chic at 10:00am), start unpacking the crap ton of stuff out of the car that we had brought and realized.....we had forgotten the ENTIRE BAG of my outfits back in St. Cloud!!!!!! I wanted to die! We frantically started calling people to see if anyone could pick up the bag from my bridesmaid's house and meet her half way while I got my hair and make up done, but of course everyone was at work on a Monday. Luckily, both Callie and Amber were super amazing and both of them had the rest of the day off AND the lady that owned the studio didn't have any more bookings the rest of the day. So we rescheduled for 2:00pm, got back in the car, and started the trip all over again. We wound up being in the car for six hours yesterday with both 2-way trips!

We got back to Cottage Grove around 1:40, cracked open a bottle of champagne, and actually ended up having a great time, despite all the suckiness of earlier that morning. I had so much fun! I was a little tense and nervous at first, but luckily I eventually loosened up and was able to kind of forget that I was scantily (sp?) clad and just have fun with my girlfriends and the photographer.

I HIGHLY recommend doing this to anyone on the fence, and I also HIGHLY recommend Callie and Amber B. They both were super amazing (and of course, ridculously flexible with me having to switch the time last second). I'm definitely not super confident, but Callie made me feel great and I had such an amazing time.

I ended up doing 3 1/2 outfits...1) Grey, purple, and white plaid boyshorts, suspenders, grey tweed heels, a grey fedora, and a white lacy bra 2) black lacy underwear, black thigh highs, black heels, and a leopard print bra 2.5) the last outfit, minus the bra and add pearls 3) a really fun red, white, and black pin-upy type outfit I put together

I have to wait 3 to 4 weeks to get the pictures back, but Callie showed me a couple on her camera while we were taking them and I'm thrilled with the way they were looking. Can't wait to get them back!

Ha wow that is an adventure! That drive on 94 is not fun at all either! I went to Saint Bens so drove that way to many times - but not all in one day :).

But I am glad the shoot went well! And I would love to see some pics if you are comfortable sharing once you get them back!

Danielle- ugh tell me about it! Planning a cities wedding from St. Cloud has made me all too familiar with 94. And of course I'd be willing to share! I'll send you a PM when I get them back

Yah! I'm a St. Cloud girl too but went to St. Paul for College and I still make the trip at least once a month.

I'm doing Sugar and Spice Photography for my Boudoir and booked it for Sept 22 and giving it to FI for Christmas.
I would die if any of my girlfriend would come with so MAD PROPS to ya :)
I haven't told a soul outside of the Knot.

Legg - Did you schedule hair and makeup with S&C separately, or was Callie running a package deal?  May I ask what you spent on the session for hair/makeup and photography?

Shan- my girlfriends made me so much more relaxed and comfortable and they were able to goof around with me and help me loosen up! I just brought two of my bridesmaids that I knew wouldn't be weirded out and would be discreet ;-)

Glitzy- When I booked with Callie she was running a special with Smart and Chic where, if you booked both of them together, Callie charged $200 for photography and S&C charged $100 for hair, make-up, and false eyelashes
