So for those of you that asked about tea dying your veil it is supper easy!
I choose to DIY my veil because I wanted a long but very simple single layer and though for sure that I could make that myself for less than the $150 one i found. So far the supplies (3.5 yrd of tulle and comb) have cost me $3.61 so yea way less.
I bought ivory tulle and decided it was still too bright - my dress color is called spun gold and I wanted a more antique looking veil to complement the color.
We put about 4 extra large tea bags in hot tap water in a big pot and put it on the stove for a few min to heat it up even more. Then immersed the tulle in the tea for only 3 min. Pulled it out, rinsed it off, and hung it up to dry.
I would guess that the time you would leave it in the tea would vary depending on how much tulle you are dying and how strong your brew the tea. We figured that we would start with 3 min and could always dye it again to make it darker if need be...and go figure 3 min was enough!
Let me know if you have any questions and I would love to help!
