Transportation

I'm looking for suggestions for transportation for the wedding day.  Our ceremony and reception are at the same location (family farm) but we were looking at providing a shuttle from the hotels (about 3 miles from each to the farm).  I'm just starting to look around and ask for quotes but I'm not sure how long to book them etc.  We'd need the shuttle for before the ceremony and then after dinner until the end of the night.  Do I need to book the shuttle for 9 hours or can I split it up?  Also we are looking at transportation (town car, etc) for us to get from the reception to our hotel (about 20 miles).  We would probably only need it for a couple hours tops from around 11 pm to 1 am.  I feel like I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to this aspect.  TIA!

You should be able to split up the shuttles - we were able to do so. Honestly, I stressed and stressed about transportation, but when it came time to make the final plans, my contact at my transportation vendor figured out all the details for me. (I realized after the fact that I had wasted a lot of time working on those logistics because my vendor came up with a plan in ten minutes that took me, like, four hours!)

My best advice is to find a good vendor (call Cheryl R at Minnesota Coaches! She's AWESOME), tell them about your plans, and let them figure out the details - they're the experts.

Thanks for the rec.  I will definitely give her a call.  I will gladly hand over this piece to an expert, as I feel I have no idea what I'm doing :)

Check with your vendor too.  If they have done weddings, they may know a trans. company that they have had good results with previously.  My vendor told me that a certain hotel will do shuttles for free so I will be doing that route.
