Musts for a photography contract

Hi!
We are meeting with our photographer tonight to make our deposit, sign a contract and schedule e-pics.  What are some of the things that need to be in the contract?  I know for sure we need to have something in there stating a back-up would be provided in case of illness or emergency.  What else?? Thanks!!!
Angie

Clear wording regarding the rights to your images, the format in which you will receive them, and a time frame in which you will receive the final product.

Also, some clear wording about what happens if the contract is broken by either party.

That your images will be backed up. We were just discussing on the Sept 2011 boards about a lady on FML.com that posted she was a wedding photographer, her hardrive crashed, and she lost all her clients' photos

If you know what it'll be, your timeline will come in really handy.  Also make sure of exactly how long and what parts of the ceremony/reception will be included, as well as any other sites you'll have photos done at.  If you're going to other sites, put it in the contract who is going to obtain and pay for the permits for those places.  I believe all the Minneapolis and St. Paul parks require a permit for photos.

Ugh this is making me really nervous that I didn't include enough in my contract!  Even though I did add quite alot to it... eeek...I am so overly paranoid about everything involving the wedding!! Drives my FI nuts...I think he trusts people too much and I don't trust enough. Lol.... All these suggestions sound like good ones!

Not only should they have backup photogs in case of emergency, they should have backup equipment on site.

Maybe have it in writing how quickly you'll receive proofs, how many pictures they'll take (i.e. 60/hr).

I should have been more thorough. But to my advantage I have 2 additional friends that are semi-professional photogs as well at the wedding and a second shooter and a videographer. I think I will be covered. :)
