Marriage License

Just a heads up in case anyone wasn't already aware of this.  The government shutdown for the state will be in 10 days.  This means you won't be able to obtain a marriage license while the shut down is in place.

If your wedding is a ways away, you probably don't have much to worry about.  However, it takes about 6 days to get the license, so if you are getting married in the next few months, I would advise you to get it as soon as possible (they are good for 6 months.)

unless I'm missing something, and I don't think I am, the State gov't shutdown shouldn't effect the ability to get a marriage license as they are given out by the county.  Different counties have different rules about how you pick it up etc.

Since you apply for the license through the county you should still be ok even if the State shuts down on July 1st.

We just went today to get ours in Henn. Co. and the lady that we spoke to said they still don't really know how, if at all, it will effect marriage license. Just to be safe, get it if you're getting married anytime in the relatively near future.
