Minnesota-Minneapolis and St. Paul

So I'm touring the Rosemount Steeple Center today!

FI, his parents and I are heading down to Rosemount in an hour.

So far my interaction with the Rec Supervisor there has been really great-she responded to my initial email 2 hours after I sent it :-) Plus, the $110 6-hour rental rate is unbeatable. The pictures of it look awesome! FI plans on taking more pictures since there aren't many on their site.

Never thought I'd be considering a venue there, I'm really excited to see it!

Would you use it for the ceremony and reception, or just the ceremony?  I thought you were going with SPCC?

The more we thought about it, we really can't afford SPCC :-( we figured out that it would be about $6-7K just for the rental and food costs (not including damage deposit, liquor cost and security cost) and we're trying to keep it all under $10K.

I found out why the Steeple Center was affordable........absolutely NO kitchen use, plus the bathroom had one men's stall and one women's. I could just see the line for the women's room get longer as the night went on :-P plus if I had to go then I'd definitely hold up the line, lol. Also, the no kitchen part I think would be a nightmare for the caterer since there isn't a spot to prepare anything or to keep it at the appropriate temps.

The facility itself is beautiful though, very nicely renovated. I could see it for just a Ceremony- not for a Reception and/or both.

Back to the drawing board :-)

That's too bad about SPCC.  It was nice to have a venue buddy for a little while!  They are pretty pricy, but since we're going pretty cheap on the ceremony and everything else (ceremony total will be maybe a whole 15% of our budget including music and flowers), we wanted to splurge on the reception.

That sucks that the bathroom situation isn't great at the Steeple Center.  The bathrooms are always one of the first things I ask about.  I'm thinking of maybe not telling any of the guests that there's a bridal suite bathroom so I don't have to wait if I need to use it myself.

I would suggest Royal Cliff...its in Eagan, so similar area as Rosemount.  We had 200 people and did it for way way less than $10,000.  I know its so hard finding a place!!  Good luck!

I just requested more info from Royal Cliff actually :-) and I freakin LOVE Brianno's!

Good to know that you were able to do it for 200 guests under $10K, that makes me happy :-D
