How'd you make the thank you signs? Is it paint on a dark paper? Love the candy basket too

I bought thin sheets of plywood from Michaels for a couple of bucks a piece and then painted the white and pink on it and then the dark blue around it. I figured it would be too hard to get the white and pink to show up and see my drawing through the blue paint, but that was a big mistake! Painting around everything was a PITA
