FIVE Event Center?

Hello!

Is anyone having their wedding (or has been to one) at the FIVE Event Center in Uptown? I've been looking into it, but I can't decide if it's too expensive or not (based on the added fees). I'm looking for something that has a ceremony space & reception space in the same venue.

I have helped as catering staff at the Five Event Center a few times.  Unless your ceremony is pretty small, it might be a tight fit, although I have seen it done. Afterwards the guests go downstairs for apps and drinks until the upstairs tables have been set up. It is a very urban, chic space. I think you can choose your caterer although they give you a list of recommended options.

I looked and felt it was wayy to expensive. Though I have heard wonderful reviews about it.

that was one of our top choices and when totaled up the costs, It's definitely expensive for what it is... we're getting married at a hotel in downtown minneapolis and the costs for five was nearly as much. 

on the plus side, you won't need to spend a lot on decor and you can use their ipod system instead of a dj.  the people there seemed great to work with and can really help you make your budget work.  

if you go with five, having a smaller wedding and an alternative reception (i.e. not an expensive sit-down meal) on a day besides saturday in the summer would be the best way to do it.
