Hot Air Balloon

Has anyone considered or done a ceremony on a hot air balloon? I checked with a couple local places and both said they love doing weddings but we have to be flexible because 75% of all rides are cancelled due to weather.

It's been done before, I'm just wondering how other brides dealt with the possible cancellations??

I think that's a neat idea. If it were me, I would have the officiant and witness or whoever there, find a pretty spot near where the hot air balloons take off, and plan on doing the ceremony there. That way if the ride is cancelled, you won't be too disappointed.

Ditto tpender - I was thinking the same thing.  It would make for some great pictures to have a hot air balloon in the background.  Then you & your new hubby can take a ride in it once your married.  GL!  = )

Cool idea! Yes, we did a hot air balloon ride last fall and it was cancelled 3 times before it took off. We were caught by surprise each time because the first 3 days were BEAUTIFUL...but even a 10% chance of rain can cancel them.  We also learned they are more likely to be cancelled in early spring and in the fall...so summer is a better bet for the weather.

We used Aamodt's balloon rides and they have an orchard that is gorgeous right there. Perhaps that would be an option?  Then, you're really close to Stillwater in case you want to have a reception there!

It would be cool to do an outdoor ceremony and then take off for like 30 minutes in a balloon during cocktail hour to get away alone for a little bit.  What a great departure!
