So here's the deal-- My FI and I want a CHEAP reception venue-- we are getting married on a cruise ad just want a super low key reception. We were thinking about doing an open-house at my moms, but she is remodeling and I can't count on it to be done by our 10-10-10 wedding.. Then we thought to do it at Dave and Buster's, but they obviously don't allow our desired caterers (Famous Daves and LeeAnnChins!!!!) and want to charge us $25/person for a BUFFET! We are now thinking of doing it in the reception room on the 3rd floor of the CineMagic Metropolitan Cinema in St. Michael. Any other options? Our guest count is pretty flexible. If we get a small venue, we'll cut it down. If it's big and we can do open-house style, we'll invite everyone and their mother. We just need a cheap venue. FI owns a DJ company and we go to weddings once a week (and now that Friday is a big wedding day, sometimes it's two per week) and are pretty sick of the normal reception. Any help would be great!!
