I just got engaged on Tuedsay, but I am already looking at reception locations.  Has anyone had/ been to a wedding at Elm Creek Park reserve- the chalet is what I am looking at for our reception- ceremony will be at a church.  

Any thoughts/ reviews are appreciated!

Congrats! Tuesday marked one year since we got engaged! Elm creek is where we had our engagement pictures done! I have been to a wedding there and it was beautiful, fun and went off without a hitch! The lookout catered, and did the drinks! happy planning!

The site is gorgeous, they are booked on Saturdays last time I checked about a month ago up through August of next year. But depending on when you want to get married it's a beautiful space!

We looked at Elm Creek and they have a lovely HUGE fireplace at one end of the space.  The staff seemed very nice and the three rivers park district has a lot of catering options.

Nice space, but I thought it was way overrated. They book so crazy fast and I don't know why.
There was a group-tour which I didn't care for, being lumped together with other couples.
They are crazy picky about being all "eco-friendly" and they have a strict alcohol policy unless you purchase a permit (who wants to spend more money on that??)

All in all, it's a beautiful place, but it was NOT for us. We (and 3 other couples) walked out during the presentation.

Congrats!!! I just got married there a week ago today   The venue is beautiful and very reasonably priced.
