Plymouth/Maple Grove/Rogers brides! Ceremony site?

Hi ladies,

If anyone lives in or is getting married in the Plymouth/Maple Grove/Rogers area, I could use your help.

We are having a really hard time finding a ceremony site in that area. Our reception is in Rogers (but they don't do ceremonies at the venue).  I'm not from that area, and need suggestions on a ceremony site. We were both raised Catholic, but aren't super strict, and hoping for a less strict church, or an alternative outdoor or indoor site so that we can personalize the ceremony readings more. There are so many Lutheran churches in the area...but would that be weird to get married there if we're not Lutheran?

My family will be traveling from the cities, so we'd rather not go any further north than Rogers.

Any suggestions? Thanks girls...I'm lost!

I am getting married in Plymouth at the Millennium Garden.  They have a 3pm-6pm time slot on Friday and 11am-2pm & 3pm-6pm on Saturday and Sunday.  The later time slots are typically reserved for people who book the Plymouth room for the reception I think, but the earlier ones might work.  You could always check with their scheduler too because I think sometimes the room gets rented and then it doesn't matter if you just rent the garden even if it is the later time slot. (Did that make sense?...sorry its been a long day).  It is really reasonably priced for a  outdoor venue, beautiful, and seats a lot of people if you need it to.  Here is the link...

    Good luck!

I'm also using Millenium Gardens and PCC for a Sept wedding.  So far, so good!  I haven't really done a ton of booking otherwise but I'm glad I got my date secured.  The venue is gorgeous, but they have a lot of rules for the reception.  Nothing too unreasonable, but something to be aware of for sure.

We're getting married at Advent Lutheran in Maple Grove- FI is Catholic and I am Lutheran and grew up going to Advent. We are having a co-officiated wedding with his Priest and Advent's Pastor. They are very open to having non-Lutherans, and have been great to work with.

saslivken - we're looking seriously at the PCC & garden - what kind of rules do they have? When we talked with them they seemed pretty flexible, saying we could put up our own decorations, etc.

AETS26, you can use your own decorations, but you can't have anything hanging from the ceiling or use confetti.  You also need to use one of three caterers that work directly with PCC (which actually makes the decision process easier, i thought).  There's no smoking on the premises and if you are having alcohol you need to "hire" a police officer for $60/hour.  Like I said, it was nothing too unreasonable, but its just things to be aware of.  I'm extremely happy with the service and there's a lady there who is ALWAYS super friendly and offers to show us around or talk about planning.

Let me know if you find anything else out!

There is a cute old catholic church on the south side of Rogers too. I believe it is called Mary Queen of Peace. It is a little white church with what looks like some beautiful stained glass. It might be worth a look at.
