Ceremony: A+
St. Michael's Catholic Church in Worthington. This is the church that my husband and I belong. It is a gorgeous church that didn't need much decoration.
Reception: A+
The Jessing Center at the Josphenium. I don't think I can say enough about how wonderful our experience was here. Its very affordable and you get way more than what you pay for. Sarah and Ashley are amazing to work with and made sure every detail was perfect and carried out efficiently. They are there the whole way through your reception and are your own wedding coordinator basically for free. The food was great, I received so many compliments on it. You bring in your own alcohol so that saved us a lot. They provide a lot of decorations with your base price and also have rental items for great prices. There was not one bad thing about this place. The grounds were fabulous for pictures also. I highly recommend them!!
Hair: A+ Crystal Bramer (
www.crystalbstylin.com). Crystal has done my hair for the last 6 or so years and she is awesome! Very affordable and she travels to your location with another stylist the day of your wedding. My hair stayed curled and perfect from 8am the morning of my wedding till Monday morning when I finally washed it. (We traveled 8hrs over seas on Sunday so this was a major plus). Even if you are just looking for a new hair stylist, I def recommend her!!
Make-up: A Alison Feamster. I found Alison on the community boards here on the knot. She came highly recommended by so many brides and I am so glad I chose her. She airbrush my make-up on and it was beautiful! I was surprised at how gentle and light it was on my skin. I have sensitive skin so I was worried it may make me break out but I fell in love with it during our trial. She also traveled to location which was very convenient.
DJ & Photobooth: A+ Buckeye Entertainment. Very very affordable. Mike and Byron are awesome to work with and really know their stuff. They really know how to keep the reception going. Their photobooth was also a great price and excellent quality. They offer a lot of lighting options as well which looks gorgeous. This was another vendor I am thankful for other Knot brides for sharing about!
Photographer: A James DeCamp (Jamesdecamp.com) Jim and his daughter Abby are great people to work with. They are very down to earth and really love what they do. I was just blown away when I got my pictures last week. Jim does a lot of styling and photo effects that are just mind blowing. I absolutely love my photos. With the two of them working together they caught every moment and offered me both formal and candid shots.
Dessert Bar: A++ We have a terrible sweet tooth and decided to do a dessert bar and used two different vendors. First for the cake we used Kelly's Cakery (formally Bakery Gingham). Kelly made us a two tier cake, top layer was a spice cake and bottom layer was a pumpkin cake. She also made us brownies, 4 types of cookies, fruit tarts, and cake pops. All of these items were to die for!
When then used Blue Frost Cupcakes in Worthington for 8 different flavors of cupcakes. These are my husband and I's favorite!! They have so many fantastic and different flavors! I think they have over 30 flavors and are constantly coming up with new ones. We were able to provide over 300 servings for cheaper than what it would have cost do just a cake for 180 people. Everyone loved it so much that we only had two pieces of cake left!
Bridal & Bridal Party Dresses: A Wendy's Bridal. I had such a wonderful experience here! Everyone here was so nice and I never felt pressured or lied too. I had a hard time finding the perfect bridesmaid dress because I wanted a long dress with straps that was around the $150 price. Shortly after I found the dress two of my bridesmaids found out they were pregnant. I was extremely worried that I wouldn't be able to find a dress that would accommodate them. However, when I walked into Wendy's to try and find a second style to go with the first the ladies at Wendys had already done the leg work and found the perfect dress to compliment the first and my two girls. They were by the same designer so the color would match. had a very similar pleat in the chest but was strapless and empire waist but also had a similar rhinestone broach. In my wedding pictures they all look fabulous!
Tux: A- Romanoff's. Great to work with and tuxedos fit all the men great. Also got a great price since I got my dress at Wendys next door. My husband even got to go back and get a free suit as part of the deal.
Limo: A Classic Limo. We needed something that was affordable since we really weren't that far away from our ceremony to reception and not having a large time gap between the two. We had a great driver, clean limo, and very prompt (early even I think) arrival.
Details: A+ Etsy & Ebay. I found so many of my little details, garter, ring bearer pillow, table numbers, programs, jewelry, etc on these two websites.
Flowers: B- All In Bloom. This was the only part of my wedding that I was not happy with. Communication was poor, they didn't follow their contract when it came to when things were due/ when to meet, and didn't listen to what I wanted exactly when she had even written down in the proposal of what I wanted. She was very enthusiastic at the consult and had me sold with the proposal, but not great after that. I didn't care much for mine or my bridesmaids bouquets. They were suppose to be bright purples and fuchsias but instead I got more light pinks and lavender. The men's flowers all were great and the reception was good. I wouldn't recommend All In Bloom. Wish I would have gone with Kelly Karsten.
