planning direction needed! Delegation?

Hi ladies - Maybe someone with a strong sense of time management could give me some advice?
Here we are, 30 days from Go-Time, and there are some MAJOR to-dos that have been lagging too long. I have to jump into it & somehow make quick, solid decisions.
If I could pack everything into one day, I could take a vacay day from my 9-5, but I am hesitant to take the weekends off, too, b/c that can be serious extra cash.

Any advice for how to most efficiently proceed with these areas?  What would you most trust someone else (Mom, MOH) to take over?

- Florist and centerpiece design
- Ceremony music and Readings (cello, outside, secular)
- veil & jewelry in my price range & vision
- Linen rental - complimentary decor at the best price
- Programs and Menus
- dinner favors - choco and wrapping options

The big things are done, but I've been spending a lot of time recently on the hotel blocks and the "groom's" dinner planning. I'm starting to show physical signs of stress.  FI is helping, but I just can't seem to get things done fast enough.

I think it all depends on your own relationship with your mom, MOH, etc. I farmed out jewelry and finishing touches to my mom because she makes jewelry and she enjoys scouring Etsy and such. I'm open to surprises because I trust her and hey, will my bridesmaids jewelry really matter to me in 10 years?

If I were you, I'd pick 2 or 3 most important things to you from the list and farm the rest out. (So, if it were me, I'd take florist and music/readings and veil) I think you'd definitely be safe in having someone take over the linen shopping, and maybe even the menus and programs, depending on how big of a deal paper is to you. (Although I think I remember your invite suite being important to you...)

thanks!  i'm hesitant to give my mom much, because she spazzed with the last 2 things I asked her to help with (her family's names and addresses in proper, formal address on a spreadsheet, and PocketFold shopping).

I'll pick the 2-3 most imp. things for myself to do. For the others, do you think it's appropriate to send an email (or have a phone convo) with Mom or MOH saying that I still have a lot on my plate, I'd appreciate their help, and ask them, nicely, which one of these tasks they feel they could do best?

I think that's completely appropriate.

I'd keep the ceremony music/readings and your veil/jewelry for yourself, but farm the rest out.  As long as you've got color swatches and a rough idea of what you want for centerpieces and linens, your mom or MOH should have no problem, especially working with professionals who've done this a million times.

THANKS!  I realize now that really to get this done, I have to delegate. 
Color swatches hmmm... Maybe I should go to Lowes & get paint chips.

I'll give CM music to FI,
Linen hunting to the Seattle-MOH,
Flowers to Mpls-MOH (gather info and come back to me),
reception little ditties & jewelry advice to my Mom.
So I'm on readings and veil-hunting!

PS, the room blocks and "groom's" dinner things are finally reserved! whew!

Could you ask them to maybe help out with the research, and bring you back two or three options and then you get to make the final decision? Then you dont get something you arent happy with, but will take a lot of the stress of searching off your hands.

Enchanted616- yes, totally!!! That's what takes so much time, all the searching!!!  As I've mentioned before, I'm totally sucking work time to do most of the web-searching and probing emails... that has to stop!

and about my invites that Beka mentioned, I had a long search for invites because I would not spend over $350 for 70 invites... and once I finally ordered some, the main card arrived in a dark green-grey color while the other cards were grey. So they were reprinted - for free.  I don't love them, but it got done, and under budget!
