cutting costs

I'm looking for ways to cut costs as opposed to cutting guests. We are pot lucking our reception dinner, and are not spending more than $2500 on our reception venue rental, we are also planning on providing the main entrees (roast beef and chicken), rolls, drinks (NAB, wine & spirits), our cake, and inexpensive favors. Does anybody have any novel or maybe less obvious ways to cut costs as opposed to cutting out integral family members? All advice is appreciated :)

We plan to buy flowers in bulk from Sam's or Costco, and make our own decorations with them. About 150 roses cost around $85. For favors we plan to bag homemade cookies in plastic bags and personalize them ourselves. I also plan to barrow any Tulle I may use in decorating from a friend, and to make our own invitations with material from local craft stores and archivers.
