the lowest has been $750 and the highest $850 to marry us! My sister is getting married this december at a church in Basehor, KS and she's not a member and they're only charging her $250. This is why I'm so frustrated and about to say screw it and go to vegas or just get married at the court house and have a great reception but I would really like to get married in a church if at all possible!

I am sorry but after looking at lots of Churches in the KC area those prices actually seem about right to me especially if the church holds 100s of people. Sorry I can't help more!

Yes I agree KC churches are much higher now, my sister is getting married next sept and that price you were given is pretty avg in the area, we got married almost 3 yrs ago and it was about $600 so i am sure it has increased with time. Good luck! Not sure when your wedding is but you could always look into parks and rec in st joe might save some $ that way.

Ps we were not a member either, if we had been the church would have been FREE!

Well thanks for all the info...I'm either thinking of joining a church for the price to come down(that sounds horrible) or just using the church my sister is using or push the wedding to october instead of august to do an outside wedding....i'm just sooo frustrated with everything it's just rediculous....

Have you thought about having the ceremony at the same venue as your reception to save on the cost. Churches can seem a little high priced but they wouldn't charge that much if people weren't paying it so I guess you can't blame them there.
