Medieval-like reception sites

Hello, My fiance and I live in St. louis, Missouri. We just found a ceremony site in Kansas City, MO that is perfect for our medieval themed wedding. Does anyone know of some inexpensive reception sites that have a medieval look or could be easily decorated to look so? Also if any of you could give some references for local florists/photographers/caterers we would be very grateful! Thanks!

I think Uptown theatre would work for your idea.

I haven't seen it for myself in person, but James P. Davis Hall in Wyandotte County Lake Park looks pretty and rustic -- made of stone and wood. You can find pretty good pictures by doing a Google images search. Also, my photographer, MonPhotography, did a wedding there and has some of the pictures on her website. If I remember correctly, I believe the rental costs were very reasonable. I definitely considered it (I love the history of the place) but decided it was too far from downtown for my (mostly out of towner) guests.I also considered Oakwood Country Club. The room there has dark wood paneling on the walls, arched doors and great trusses and chandeliers above. As for vendors, I am using MonPhotography, as I mentioned, and she seems great. We haven't had an pics taken yet (and the wedding isn't for almost a year), but she has been very responsive, her pricing is very reasonable, and I really like her style. For flowers, I am using Clara's Flowers. She seemed to understand my flower preferences and, like MonPhotography, her prices were quite reasonable. My caterer comes with my venue, Feasts of Fancy at the Hobbs building. I've heard great things about them, and they definitely cater outside events.

Thanks for the info erinmarie. The James P. Davis hall looks like a great location for the reception and definetly fits our budget!

Happy to help. I'm planning from afar as well and am happy to share what I've learned.

Renee Kelly's/ Caenen Castle may be a great fit. It's on the kansas side though... http://www.chefreneekelly.com/

I was going to suggest Caenen Castle also, but it is on the smaller side so it depends on how many guests you're having. It's not a bad drive from KCMO though, I think you could have the ceremony downtown and still have the reception there.

Ours will be at the Vox Theatre, and while Midevil is not our theme, I could see it working in there.  We're also using Deco Catering, 18 Flowers, and Chyree Studios.
