Californios

Hello ladies! Okay, so we have looked at SO many different places for our reception and Californios is still our top one. I am hoping some of you can help me though, if you've ever been/had your reception there! I am concerned about the separate rooms...I just feel like our guests would miss out on things if they were in the other room. I'm also a little concerned about the noise since there is a lot of time live music there on Fri and Sat nights, I'm worried we'd be able to hear it downstairs through out our reception. I've also heard rumors that they have VERY easy to work with and easy to negotiate with. Is this true? They're definitely not the cheapest we have found, but they are definitely our favorite!! 45 dollars a person is a lot of money to us (especially since we're paying for it), but we love Californios so much we don't want to part with it :) Thanks so much for your help! Molly

I would fully rec. Californios.  They have been so great so far..my wedding isn't until June of 2010.  Aaron the guy you will most likely talk to is amazing and the rest of the family is great to work with too.  Good luck!

We looked at Californos but we decided that we wanted a little more open space.  Since our wedding is in October we wouldn't have been able to rely on the ability to have the ceremony or cocktail hour outside. However, the food was AWESOME and Aaron, like pp said, was great and very accommodating.I suggest it for a smaller reception (I'd say 75 people max).  They say it fits more but I don't think I would have been comfortable with more, and some of the tables would have to be in a different room which I wasn't comfortable with.

I was at a wedding there just a few months ago. AMAZING!!!! There was a consert/ music going on outside and until I went to my car I didn't know anything other than the wedding was going on. The lighting was cool and having the food in another room seperate from the dance floor was genious. The older guests could eat and talk and the younger group just danced it up. The food was really good too!

I don't get on here much anymore, but I wanted to throw my 2 cents in!  I had my reception at Californos this past July.  Aaron and Eve are great to work with.  The food is AMAZING.  Getting to pick 10 items from the list is great, except I didn't eat near that much.  They are supper accomodating.  They added Blvd Wheat and only charged is $0.50 per person over 21.  That was a great deal!  I didn't notice any other music from upstairs.  I was worried about the separate rooms also, but it was perfect.  The people who wanted to chat stayed in the food room and the people who wanted to dance and have a good time stayed in the room with the DJ and dance floor.  I loved the 2 bars also.  I would HIGHLY reccommend Californos!  If you have anymore questions you can email me at tarabeth14 at hotmail dot com.  I was just jurking over here to see the new layout.
