DIY Centerpiece Help!

I'm trying to put together centerpieces for my July wedding.  I have met with a floriest and she came up with three really GREAT ideas...as much as I'd love her to do it all, it is not within our budget. :)  Anyway, one of the options would be curly willow in a cylindrical vase that is approximately 19 inches tall x 5.5 inches wide.  I can order the curly willow from Hy-Vee, online, etc. but I have NO IDEA how much would be needed per vase.

Another option is a cylindrical vase approximately 12 inches tall x 5 inches wide that would include dendro orchids.  Again, I can order the orchids and do it myself, but I don't know how many stems would be needed per vase.

My third questions is regarding votive candles.  I'd like to place about 4 or 5 pink votive candles per table.  Do I need a votive candle holder for each one?  If so, that doubles the price.  Is it tacky without?  (It's so hard for me to visualize this stuff!!)

Let me know what you think!  Thanks!

I think what you would need to do regarding whichever of the first two ideas you want to do is buy one vase and some curly willow or orchids and try it out too see how many you need. I'm planning on trying one centerpiece first to see how it looks and figure out how much of everything we need (I'm doing candles, though).
For your question about votives, yeah, I would think you would need one votive per candle. Places like Hobby Lobby, Michael's, or Joanne's have some for about .99, though, so it shouldn't be too expensive.
    Good luck!

Ditto PP about trying out each idea with ONE centerpiece first and then use that to determine how much you would need total.

For votives, most places that allow candles require they be in some kind of holder/hurricane glass for fire prevention purposes. I would plan to have some kind of votive holder for each votive for that reason.

You'll have to post pictures of what you decide - any of those ideas sound like they'd be beautiful!
