feeling a little down

So...I'm really starting to get down about the wedding planning.  I feel like we can't make any plans until we decide on a reception location.  We have a limited budget, so our reception location options are also limited.  We visited one location two weekends ago, and it just wont work.  Too small and not really handicap accessable.  I was really looking forward to visiting another location this weekend.  The event coordinator just called to canel.  She didn't give me a reason.  She didn't even try to reschedule.  Frankly, she wasn't very nice.  I'm so disappointed.  I was really looking forward to seeing this place.  I was hoping that we would finally be able to book something...and get the planning on the move.  I'm feeling like we are running out of options that will work for us financially.  Augh...I'm so frustrated.

Thanks for listening...I'm done complaining for now.  lol,

Have you looked at local buildings like VFW or Knights of Columbus?  They run on the cheap side.  Also check out your parks and rec buildings - the ones in Lawrence, KS rent for $50-75 for the entire night, but most of them don't allow alcohol.

A park is for sure a great way to go if you are  looking to save money. There are a lot of great locations that even offer covered access just incase of rain or bad weather. Keep your chin up!

I know the place we are having our rehersal dinner at is pretty inexpensive.  You can bring in your own alcohol and caterer.  The only catch it only holds 150 people.  Don't get down, just get creative.

Which part of KC are you looking in? The suggestions for VFW or Knights of Columbus are great, and I would also suggest looking into community centers.

I'm sorry you're feeling down. :-( It can be upsetting when roadblocks like this appear.

Ditto with VFW or a Park. We found a reception site that holds up to 530 people and is in the OP area (Camelot Ballroom). Where are you looking?

    Good luck! :-)
