Hyvee Cake

Hi ladies!! Can anyone give me an estimate of how much Hyvee chargers for wedding cake? Like per slice. Do you know if they do fillings?

Any other experiences with Hyvee cakes---good or bad?

Thanks in advance!!

I've tried a couple different locations over the wedding plan process (from bridal fairs and such).  I wasn't a fan, but it depends on the location, so if you don't like one, you may try another if the price is right.

I asked a Hyvee recently how much they charge per slice, and they said 3 dollars a slice for just a basic buttercream frosted wedding cake. It took every ounce of my self control not to laugh in their faces, lol. Hyvee's cake is always dry and yucky, and there are only about a dozen other places you could go to for cake, that charge like 2.00 a slice, or 2.50 a slice, that are delicious. I'd suggest shopping around some more. :)

Our cake was from Hy-Vee and it was wonderful but I have heard that it really depends on the particular location that you get it from.  One of my friends went to a Hy-Vee in MO for a tasting and had an awful experience.  I don't remember how much we paid for it but it was pretty reasonably priced.  HTH!

Check out "dreamery cakes" instead. I've heard rumors that HyVee uses frozen cakes... just like their donuts, cupcakes and some cookies. Their bread is delicious though :)

It depends on the Hy-Vee.  Mine is charging $2.00 a slice for white cake with buttercream frosting.  Their cake is frozen, but it still tasted good, so I wasn't worried about it.
