In need of a venue

Bride to be's,

Can you suggest a place where I can have everything. Wedding, reception, and lodging. We are looking at the Overland Park Ks, Sheraton hotel. Has anyone been there for an event?

I haven't been there for a wedding, but I did do extensive research into the Marriott in Overland Park for our reception. They had a great package, but I decided to go a different direction.

The Elms resort and spa in excelsior springs. It is very beautiful and not your typical hotel setting.

I don't know how much lodging you need, but Mildale Farm is beautiful and you can rent a couple of houses on the estate that will sleep 12 or 13 people I believe.

I've been to a christmas party at the overland park sheraton and the food was good and it was fun.  I've also been to a wedding at the overland park convention center (next door to the sheraton) and that was very nicely done.

i'm using the Elm's.  The big downer is that Excelsior springs is a little bit out there. You have the option of outside or inside wedding.  We are getting married in the gazebo out back.  There are pics in my bio.

I know you said Overland Park, but in the Crossroads district is a loft space-Arts Incubator that you can do your ceremony and reception at.  There isn't lodging but they do have a nice plan worked out with a plaza hotel that reserves rooms for $99 if you block 10 or more.  It is also really affordable and you can bring in your own food and alcohol!

I've been to events at the Overland Park Sheraton.  They weren't weddings, the were work events, but we did stay in the hotel.  It was a great location and the service was excellent.  Also, I work at Unity Village (it is located just outside of Lee's Summit).  We have chapels, a reception location (including on-site catering) and a hotel all in the same place.  So, that could be an option for you too.
