2nd wedding, wanting a simple venue thats not too expensive

My FI lives in Lees Summit, I live in Olathe so we are open to anywhere in between, as well as midtown, downtown, The Plaza but we are looking to keep cost down.  We just recently decided to marry in June so the "normal" places will be taken.  Any ideas on unique venues?

  • Thanks for your input.  I guess it does help if I give a few details.  We are thinking no more than 200 and possibly doing a morning wedding so we can just do a cake and punch reception.  It feels a little odd to go all out for a second wedding.

Have you been to a wedding at John Knox?
  • We're using the Scottish Rite Temple in Kansas City, MO.  It's a beautiful venue and one of the more inexpensive venues I've found in KC.  Their website is www.srkc.org and it will easily fit your anticipated guest list.

  • We got married at the Olde Mill Emporium in Parkville. It was PERFECT and really affordable. Totally recommend.
