Uptown, expensive?

Has anyone looked into the Uptown Theatre and how it compares to other venues? I haven't been able to find anything similar and the price seems to be right. Just wanted some opinions.

We looked into it, and I definitely considered Uptown.  We ended up going with something in our neck of the woods so we could use our church.

FWIW I did think it was a pretty cool venue.  I think we were looking at the Valentine Room for our size of wedding, and the price seemed pretty reasonable, especially since it's almost a one-stop shop!

We are having our ceremony and reception at the Uptown. I think comparatively, if you price in the food, liquor and linens/barware, it is definitely in a similar price range with many other locations. I know we also looked at The Loretto, Loose Mansion, Longview Mansion, Club 1000, The Berg and several other locations, and based on price, all of these were very similar.

I know I fell in love with the unique feel of the Uptown and I am so happy with everything so far. The food is great, too! And from the hassle it saves you dealing with so many vendors, I think it's worth any price difference.

We went this past weekend and i was VERY impressed with the venue and Kim (the one who gave us the tour). I did think it was really expensive though. However, every place is expensive to me and Kim said over over agan they are able and willing to work with us if we told her our budget. I've heard really good things about weddings at the Uptown and I loved it a lot more than i thought i was going to! Good Luck!
