It's been over a year since I got married, but I wanted to post a warning about Sparrow Photography (Erica Price) in Kansas City. I hired her after my original photographer bailed on me, so it was a last-minute decision. Still, I felt confident about her and my decision.
First, she did not deliver on the photographs she said she would do. We gave her a clear-cut list of combinations of family members that we wanted in photos, and she did not make that happen. I know that some of that impetus was on me, but the day was so hectic and I thought that the photographer should come through and ensure that we had all the shots of combined family members we wanted. For instance, we do not have a photo of me with my husband's family. It's really disappointing to have paid her so much and to not have gotten what we wanted. You can't go back and replicate that day again.
Second, for the price, her photographs were extremely generic and plain. There was nothing special about any of them, none of the special effects that I told her I wanted she implemented. Again, another huge disappointment, especially for the price.

Finally, and this is the biggest one, she failed to return a phone call, email, facebook message, text, etc., for at least 6 months after our wedding. At one point she emailed me with no explanation as to her being MIA, but she did say that our photo albums (the reason I was endlessly trying to contact her), were in the mail. One month later, nothing. No albums. Two months later, nothing. All this time, she failed to respond to any one of my multiple attempts to get through to her. I thought we were just out of our 3 wedding albums and I was honestly thinking about initiating talks with attorneys about how to take her to small claims court.
Finally, another month later, our albums inexplicably arrived. They were fine, but there was still no word from her about why she would not respond to me. I seriously called her every single day, thinking that I could force her to call me back or email me back through sheer annoyance. Nope.
I'll wrap this up but I just wanted to issue this warning to KC brides going through the process of hiring a photographer because I would not wish the kind of distress and frustration that Erica Price caused me on my worst enemy.
