wedding favors~

Does anyone have any creative ideas...something other than candies or matchbooks? I am trying to come up with something out of the norm but no luck yet : /

Thanks ladies!

What about something with local flavor - i.e. BBQ sauce, local bottle of beer or wine (for the drinkers) or something like that.  We also went to a wedding where the favor was 2 cookies, a special receipe from each side of the family another thing I've seen is flower seeds which I thought was different.  HTH

We're doing dual placecards/favors.  I bought the seed paper placecards from TK shop for something like $.50 each when they were on sale.  We are putting them in a cute envelope with the placecard and photo card [see bio] and writing names on the outside of the envelope.

We are doing decks of cards. One of my pet peeves is waiting forever for the bride and groom to arrive at the reception and the party to start. So I really hope people feel free to use them and entertain themselves! Plus I thought it might be something that people could actually use when it's all over.

So far, my favorite that I've seen at a friends wedding was a CD.   They compiled about 12 songs onto a CD of their favorite songs (mostly love songs) and it was so great! They also had cookies for everyone to take home.  The CD had some country, some R&B, some pop, some rock - it was great.  We listen to it all the time!

I like the idea of doing something to remember your wedding by instead of just a little box of chocolates that a lot of people do. Is your wedding in Kansas? You could always do little bbq sauce or I went to a wedding where they did bbq rub. I think they bought some at OK Joe's and poured it in little bags and put at everyones place settings! I LOVE the idea of the cards, how cute!!

We are doing a homemade cookie and truffle buffet.  It will be set up similarly to a candy buffett, but will be all homemade cookies and truffles on glass platters.  I am designing bags for people to take them home if they'd like to do that, or they can enjoy them at the party.  We're also doing something called caramel crunch in a favor bag tied with ribbon at each place setting.  It's a special recipe of my mom's and its delicious!  I'm hoping everyone will like all the homemade goodies!!

I've had lots of other favors from weddings that were just thrown away because there was no use for them, or it was just clutter.  I had a friend last year who made their own wine and bottled it for every guest, and had a picture of them on the bottle.  I thought that was a good idea, and the wine was great!

Origami would be cool if it goes with the theme of your wedding. Other than that, flower seeds or bubbles would be nice.

We're doing matchboooks (this was when we thought we'd be able to do sparklers as we left, so it served a dual purpose haha) and a photobooth (they get to keep one half of the pics). I've heard of candy buffets, candles, or as many PPs have said, BBQ with a personalized label (especially considering we're in KC!!) or wine. There's also charitable donations you can make in place of giving favors (and brides have put little "information" cards about this at the tables).

How many favors do you think you'll need?
