Hello Ladies,
I am getting married on April 28, which means I have about ten months to plan since I am a DIY bride. I have a venue which provided a good package. However, I still have so much to do but I have not really done anything yet. The list on the knot.com is overwhelming. Everyone seems to be too busy to help. I need a realistic idea of what are the things I should have accomplished by August. What have you ladies accomplished so far? What will you accomplish in the next few months? Please any suggestions are welcomed.
Re: Procrastination
First, take a deep breathe and relax. You have to decide what means the most to you if its the DJ then find that first. If its the photographry then do that first. You have a venue so that is great! You need to make a list of the things that are most important to you and your fiance and then check them off as you get them done. I have assigned myself a task every 2 weeks and a DIY project every 2 weeks as well.
The most important thing for you is your venue so thats a good start.
I also agree with Luckystart with what's important to you.
However photography/videography,DJ,decorations are always a good place to start! (ha So far I have these checked off my list)
Dress shopping is also very important.
So take a deep breath and just start where u feel most comfortable!
Hoping that it will all comes together.
Congrats again and happy planning!
I would knock out all of the bigger vendors first. Since you have your venue that is a great start because the date is official. If you aren't having your ceremony at the same location I would book that ASAP. Then DJ, photog, florist etc. Try and come up with a main idea that you want (colors/theme) and go from there. Good luck and don't worry!
