Why won't people RSVP?

I know my RSVP date isn't for another 13 days but why won't people RSVP?!?!  We still have over 1/3 missing.  I'm tempted to already start calling people but I know I'm being crazy, lol.

It's okay, I know how you feel. There was a point when 2 weeks had passed and we didn't get any RSVPs. I wanted to strangle people. Then as our deadline approached we started getting lots back. Don't worry. Next week you'll get a whole bunch, seeing as you set the deadline for April 1.

That is a good question. Our RSVP deadline is this Saturday and we are still missing almost half. I think that we're going to have to make a lot of phone calls I'm glad I paid for a bunch of postage that no one is using.

Ugh this is making me crazy too! My deadline is Friday and I didnt get anything back yesterday or today-I'm still waiting on about 53 rsvps which equals 106 people!

It really is annoying and I too don't understand what is so hard about RSVPing!

It pisses me off.  We finally got all of our numbers by calling and emailing people, but it did make me mad to have to do that.  Everyone got a save the date, then they got an invite.  They had time to figure out if their answer was yes or no.

Plenty of people were wishy washy with their verbal response too!  I just told them "We need to know by March 15 - latest, please let us know by then." 

I am just hoping nobody that said no shows up.  There will be no room for them.

ugh, i know it's so frustrating. I didn't have any in my mailbox at all and I'm still waiting for about 20! grr! people get your act together!

Right there with you! I don't get why it's so difficult for people!  I only recieved about a quarter back and sent out messages a few days after the deadline.  Almost everyone said "Oh I meant to put that in the mail.." others said "oh yes I'll be there and I'll get in in the mail right now!" Hello if you're telling me yes right now no need to send it..

My newest annoyance with the whole guest thing are the ones that say I want to bring a guest but I'm not sure if I am or not.  Geez people!!! lol

I also wanted to keep all of the RSVP cards and put them in a memory box, or do something with them, but NO!!!  People didn't want to send them back!

They don't RSVP because they've never been taught to do so.  Either that, or nobody has ever called them out on their horrible manners.  We had about 6 calls to make.... out of 37 invitations.  That's pretty sad. 

And it doesn't stop there. For those who plan on having children, it's the same way with kids' birthday parties.  I'm mean - I'll hunt people down because I'm not going to pay $15 for your kid to go bowling, plus pizza, drinks, a larger cake, and a goodie bag if you can't pick up the phone, call, text, email, etc.  Dd got invited to a party for this Saturday and I just called yesterday when I got my voice back.  I apologized to the mom up one side and down the other and she said that out of the whole class of 20, plus 9 extras from Girl Scouts, I was the ONLY person to RSVP so far.  I felt so bad for her!

It's just so freaking rude that I PAID for a stamp for people to send it back.. don't be lazy, you like food don't you?! Okay so then pick what you wanna eat and put it back in the mailbox!!

My favorite excuse is "oh I've been so busy the past few weeks".... uh ok so you haven't checked the mail at all in the past few weeks?? Here's how it works... next time you go to check the mail... carry the RSVP card in one of your hands on the way there, and drop it in the mailbox. IT'S REALLY NOT THAT HARD!!

My RSVP date was the 11th and there were 4 in the mail yesterday lol.

It seems like many people just dont care anymore or dont really see the RSVP date as a real deadline. Our RSVP's are due by tomorrow and so far we've recieved about 10 out of 60. FMIL says Im making a big deal about wanting to have the RSVP's back on time because as she says "if you're inviting them they'll be there, you can just wait until the wedding day to see who actually shows up" Um, no, I dont think so. So Im going to start calling people next week to get their answers.
