April 2013 Weddings

La-tee-dah

Well, the wedding party count is now 7 girls and 5 guys.  Maybe...we're not completely sure but we think another one of our groomsmen had to bail today.  He said he might be there for the wedding but didn't want to commit to being a groomsman and have his schedule change.  Apparently the company he flies for now isn't very clear with their scheduling process.  Either way, we can have a spot for him in the audience or up front.

I think we're kind of numb to this now so it's not as upsetting as when my bridesmaid bailed a month ago.  Is that bad???

Re: La-tee-dah

  • Why can't he still be a groomsmen? If he can't make it he can't be a groomsmen or guest but if he can be there what's the difference if he's standing with your groom or sitting in the audience? That seems like strange reasoning on his part. It's not like he has to do anything time consuming, if he can come to the wedding he can be a groomsmen

  • I agree.  We are going to keep his name on the tux rental list just in case.  He said he thinks he can only make it down for a day, he's just not sure which day.  Might be the wedding day, might be the day before or the day after(I highly doubt he'd come down for the day before or after).  It all just depends on what the company decides.  Basically, he didn't want us to count on him and not actually be able to make it.  Like I said, if he can make it, he is welcome to stand or sit.  It's up to him at this point.

I don't think he'll get sized and pay for a tux if he doesn't know for sure a couple of weeks before the wedding.  We shall see what happens.
