Where to buy shoes?! Under $50

Hey girls!  I am so NOT a shoe girl.  I mean, I like them, but I kind of just settle and buy shoes when I see them on sale. I have no "great" shoes, just some cute ones.  For the wedding I either need a medium heel - about 2 1/2 inches or I may go with ballet flats.  I am thinking silver shoes.  Where do you all shoe shop?  I would prefer a store so I can try them on, but online would work as well.  I would like to spend $50 or less...  Suggestions?

Thanks ladies!

Re: Where to buy shoes?! Under $50

  • I spent around $50 on some 3 1/2 inch platform flip flops on Etsy.  I was able to personalize them the way I wanted and I still haven't been able to find a pair that I like better.  We'll be outside so I didn't want to sink into the grass and I didn't want to have to bother with switching out shoes.

Will you be outside or inside?  Are you opposed to slender heels or do you need more stability like me?  DSW and Famous Footwear have always been good options for me in the past.

    Good luck!

  • We will be inside.  I like a slender heel, just nothing too tall or anything that will hurt to walk in.  I am not super graceful.. :)  I will try those places!  Thank you :)  Flip Flops are not a bad idea.  Do you have a picture of yours?

  • Our ceremony will be outside, so I just got some plain white flats from Payless.  I'm going to DIY a rhinestone pattern on them to match the $200 pair that I fell in love with but could never afford.

Shoe Carnival is another option, as well as Nordstrom's.  They have some amazing sales.

  • My shoes look like this, except the 3 1/2 inch platform version :-)  If you go on to Etsy and search BridalFlipFlops you should be able to see all of her options.  The shop owner is Crissi Whitaker and she is awesome!
  • I got mine from Steve Madden. If you're looking for cheaper options I would look at DSW, Marshall's and nordstorms rack.

  • I spent around $50 for my ceremony pair (I really wanted a pair of glittery toms for the reception...but I'll wear those again so...I'm only half counting those as wedding shoes :P). I ordered from a random online site that I found by googling "1 inch wedge heel". They were very cooperative and easy to deal with though and seemed to have a lot of options in a lot of colors. Here's the site (and my shoes): click!
  • My shoes were a serendipitous find at Francesca's Collection. My other shoes are from DSW Macys and Nordstrom. If you are willing to try online Zappos.com is awesome. Very easy to search for something specific and they pay return shipping so I usually order a few pairs and return whatever I don't want.

  • I am not sure what shoes I will be wearing yet, but I am really considering ballroom dancing shoes. They are super comfortable, and affordable.

  • I bought these on Zappos: http://www.zappos.com/unlisted-all-natural-ivory-satin

They were $49, which was quite reasonable--but they're now $39.99. I wish I'd waited! They look great with my dress, but they're more of a champagne than an ivory.
  • i got mine at DSW.  they were $65 i think. i don't see them here, but this is a link to DSW bridal shoes: http://www.dsw.com/womens-shoes/collection/wedding+shop/bride/dsw12cat1190018/page-1/
