Post wedding hair?

So, FI is working on his groomsmen gifts and I'm bored :)

My hair is currently very long (for me - about an inch or two below my armpits), mainly because I needed it longer to do an updo like I wanted. However, it's driving me NUTS. I'm already planning on my postwedding hair. Is anyone else? Here's what I'm thinking:

I'm hoping it'll work. My hair is very fine and sort of wavy like hers so I'm thinking it might be good. Mostly, I'll be excited to have it short even though I'm also nervous because it's definitely the shortest I've ever gone. I'm a brunette with a lot of red in it, though, so if I dye (which I might), I'll be doing lighter red highlights to amp that part up instead of blonde (I did blonde for about three years and the upkeep killed me).

Anyone else have any post wedding hair plans??

Re: Post wedding hair?

  • Yes, I can wait to do a post wedding chop! I have really long blonde hair, like getting close to my butt long. I get a lot of compliments on it, but I'm so sick of it I don't think I can deal with it much longer. I'd like to cut it up to my shoulders with a side bang, similar to Chelsea Kane or Julianne Hough. I would upload photos, but I'm on my phone.

  • I'm thinking something like this!  My hair is dyed a darker red right now but it'll fade nicely to something very close to my natural color and I think I will just go natural for awhile.  It'd be nice to save money and see if I can actually find my natural hair color again, haha :-)

  • Those are super cute! Mine is halfway down my back and I love it! I'm gonna let mine grow. I usually get bored and chop it, but I like it long now. I may do a different color though after the wedding.

  • My hair has almost always been long. Right now it is well below my bra line. I am debating on chopping it off after the wedding and donating it to locks of love. I was nervous that it wouldn't be long enough, but FI measured it and even if I do 12 inches it is still past my shoulders. I am just nervous because the last time I cut my hair I felt like I didn't like it. The troubles of being a women lol too many options!

  • Ich - very nice! I love the layering!!

adawn - I kind of wish I had your willpower - I always end up chopping it. I guess if I spent more time doing it in the morning instead of just shoving it into a ponytail or braid, I might be more inclined to keep it but...eh. I do love long hair - I just can't stand having it myself!

VK - I also want to look into locks for love, but I'm not sure if I have enough. I'll have FI measure when it comes time to actually chop it off. I don't want to lose too much!
  • I love a blunt bang in the front (zoey dechunnel-ish), but that doesn't really work for wedding hair, so I've been growing the bangs for like 6 months.  I'm chopping then off right away !  But I am digging  how long my hair has gotten.

  • I was just thinking about this!  My hair is way too long and I can't wait to cut it.  I think I'm going to splurge and go to a fancy salon and get a new shorter haircut right when we get back from the honeymoon!
