We finally got the invitations out this week. We had to cut the list from 250 people to 150 because we just couldn't afford it.
People are posting all over facebook about getting their invitation. People are sending me messages asking if I need their address. I'm deleting the posts I have control over but some of them are on their own pages. What a mess!!!

Did you send them save the dates, or verbally tell them they would be invited?

That's tough Melicifant :-(  There are many others we would like to invite too but we had to cut the list short in order to keep the dinner costs managable.  You could always flub the truth a bit and blame it on the venue and not having enough space to accomodate them,  or tell people you were wanting a more low key intimate affair.  It's never easy to tell people they aren't invited and some people will take that personally but hopefully most of your friends will understand.

The problem is that the groom is a co-founder of a group that has grown to over 180 people. I figure that if someone isn't my friend on facebook or they are not in my phone then I really shouldn't have to worry about inviting them to my wedding. It's just a little embarrassing that so many people are posting it all over the place.

I would hide or delete as many posts on facebook that you can so other people cannot see them. Make sure your FI hasn't said anything to these people about being invited. Good luck!

It gets better! Someone he knows (his exgirl friend's best friend) told him she understands not being invited but she saw one of the invitations and just has to have one. Would he please let her have one?
What?! These were not cheap. I'm not just handing them out. Ugh! I need new friends.
