  • Jealous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can't wait to do that!
But I have to lose weight first. I am determined to be at my target weiht before I get married. Will you take pics???
  • I am going to try to take pics, although I think some bridal salons are weird about this is you do not purchase the dress. I am sure I will take a pictures of the dress if I find it and will share with you all :)

  • That is awesome! Do you have a specific style you are looking for?

I am going (for my third appointment) on Saturday. The first one, at Davids Bridal, went well. The second one, at a random boutique, was not good at all, and tomorrow I am going to a different DB because the first one didnt have all of the dresses I wanted to try on.

I am weird and I *need* to try on certain dresses before I can make my mind up, haha!

  • I know what I like, but have never tried on dresses before so I am probably going to ask to try on a variety. When I called the two shops that we are going to I asked if they had a couple of the dresses that I like and they do, but am not going in just to try on those dresses..... I know my eyes go towards the more fitted kind, but more so lately I am loving the lace dresses with the keyhole backs. I know some of thoses are not in my budget. I know David's Bridal has a dress with the keyhole back but am nervous to go to david's just because I have heard mixed reviews... how has your experience been with them?

  • I agree...Try on styles and fabrics that you didnt think ud like. I thought i was going to get a satin dress in a certain style and that was the last thing that i liked when i tried on dresses! good luck and have fun with it!
-also..do your hair...you dont have to get fully decked out but put some effort into you you look that day.to get a better idea of how the dress looks...i had friends that just walke din with their hair a mess etc and they hated everything they put on!
oh yah!!! and be prepared that usually when you come out in the dress there are families from other brides there and people will be watching you

I have a friend who works there so she helped me out a lot. I don't know if she did or didn't do anything out of the norm. But at DB she got me a fitted bra, slip etc and she would get matching veils/hair pieces for the dresses I tried on. But at the random boutique I went to, they just gave me the dress and that was it. I am nervous to go to a new one this weekend, so if they are crappy I will def tell you!

  • I went to David's Bridal on Thursday. First place I went to. My mom and I got there and my consultant, Janai, was so nice. I told her exactly what I was looking for, even the style numbers of some of the dresses I saw online. I ended up finding my dress (the first one I tried on, too) there. And they let you take pictures. I had never been in one either, but they were just great and my mom and I had a blast. I recommend them.

  •   I've been shopping at two David's Bridals.  One in town by myslef on Feb. 20th and another out of town last weekend so I could show my top 3 to my parents, matron of honor and her mom.
My experiences were completely different.  At the one in town on a day off from school (President's Day), I had a consultant to myself, she got the dresses from my list, hung them up outside the changing room, helped me get each dress on (so it would slip on without bunching), etc.
At the one out of town, it was a Sat. during prom dress season, which may explain the difference in service a bit.  An assistant and I had to get the dresses from the racks (at least to me the organization was lacking, each number was together, but the numbers weren't sequential, so it took a while), I had to share a consultant with another bride (the only help she gave me was to get a few veils and tiaras), all the dresses were hung in my room which made it a little tight, my mom had to help me get the dresses on (she didn't know how to lace one up).

ANYWAY... I have chosen my favorite dress from David's Bridal, but want to try on a few dresses from Alfred Angelo.  Hopefully some of the bridal salons in town will carry the dresses I like and I can make a decision in the next month or so.
