Good Morning!

How was your weekend?

Mine was alright, I didn't do much. I slept funny Friday night and had a headache all weekend; it is just now starting to go away.

I don't know if you saw my post from Friday in the weekend thread, but my FI went to the first night of the little girls viewing yesterday. He said it was unreal, and she looked like a little porcelain doll lying in the casket. It was one of the hardest things he has ever done. I just hope hearing about this poor little girl who's life was taken by a drunk driver, causes someone to think twice about drinking and driving.

Sorry for being so depressing.

I am so sorry vk.  That must have been so hard on your FI.  I hope that the family is able to find peace.

We spent the weekend down the shore and I managed to get sun poisoning.  While I was under an umbrella with spf 75 on.  Special me.  

I wish we didn't have to come to work til noon on Thursday.  I am going to be too tired to function until that time anyway.

When my niece passed when she was 16 days old, we didn't have a viewing (although close family saw her in her casket).  The funeral home directors said they don't typically have viewings for children/infants that die because it's just too heartbreaking.  

I had a migraine yesterday so FI and I got no wedding stuff done like we planned.  We did get a kitchen table from a teacher friend of mine for $15, so that was great.  Now I'm cleaning like a fool since FI and I invited some people over on Wednesday.

VK, that must have been really difficult for your fi. I hope you're right about that this may influence people to make smarter choices.

My weekend was pretty good. Nothing much on Friday, I had a closing shift at work, so I only got to hang out with fi after 10. Saturday we had planned on a beach day; I was supposed to get off work at 2. A co-worker called out, I need the hours, so I stayed till 5. So we had a beach evening instead. It was still really fun, but we want to have a beach DAY soon. I went shopping with my mom yesterday. I'd gotten her some gift cards for Mother's day, so we went to the mall to spend them. I really love hanging out with my mom. Then fi and I watched J. Edgar with a delcious dinner I made. I also love making good food for fi. He tends to forget to eat dinner if I'm not home to make it...

I'm so sorry that you and your FI have such a tragedy affecting your l ife right now.  It really is heartbreaking to lose someone especially so young. 

My weekend was packed with family parties..I"m kinda getting nervous because all my weekends are getting booked up and those are really the only days I really have to do wedding projects, make phone calls etc.  But I did have fun at my nephew's first birthday party.  He had a mickey mouse cake all to himself and he had soooooo much fun eating it and putting on his daddy's nose!!

I am sorry about your niece.

The little girl's father is a police officer, so they are doing the formal 'cop burial' - they have people guarding the casket, they will do a police escort, etc. It took her dad a few days to decide what he wanted/needed to do, and he said he wants to honor her in this way.
