I  am getting married on April 28th.  II feel like I suck at planning my wedding and am missing things I should be doing.   So far I have my venue which provides my limo, table decor, videographer and a photographer.  What should be done before January?  What have most of you done so far?

Hi! I'm getting married April 20. We've booked our venue, caterer, photographer, and had our cake tasting. We've decided on the decor & centerpieces. We're going to order bridesmaid dresses before Thanksgiving and will send out save the dares next month as well. We still need to decide on flowers and I'll start working on our DIY products over the next couple of months. My plan is to try (not sure if its realistic) and have everything planned by the end of the year and then we'd only have deposits to finalize next year. It sounds like you have some of the big items, so I'd say your own track! Are you going to have a planner?

Thank you so much.  This gives me an idea what I need to get done.  I am only going to have a planner for the day of the wedding.

Hi! I'm getting married April 26th. We spent the summer doing a LOT, and so far I've done the following: book venue, photographer, florist, DJ, bought my dress, bought bridesmaid dresses, got engagement photos done, sent save the dates, DIY invitations, won a contest for free hair for the bridal party and will be doing a trial this Friday to see if I like them, did our menu tasting and picked out the food for the guests, bought a few gifts for the bridesmaids, created menus...

I'm sure there's smaller stuff. We need to book a limo soon but I'm trying to figure out the situation for transportation that day. As long as all the major vendors are booked you should be fine at this point but it doesn't hurt to get a head start on any DIY projects you need done.

I am getting married April 5, we pretty much have all of our vendors in place The girls dresses are ordered, and mine is already in. The flower girl dresses will be ordered in December, and I am still waiting on my mom to go dress shopping for her. I am working on my DIY projects, beginning to order our invites (I won a gift certificate from cricket printing. I am trying to get them done so we can have them by early December), and now we are just waiting for our meetings with out vendors to pick up again. We will have our details meeting with our venue coming up since we are 6 months out, and after the new year we will have a final meeting with our florist, and 45 days out an in depth meeting with out photographer where we make a detailed scheduled. From there we will share the schedule with out other vendors. I will also be doing my hair and makeup trials Jan/Feb.

Do you have your ceremony location set?

You seem to have the big parts taken care of. If you are having bridesmaids I would pick out the dress ASAP. I went in last week to start looking and the lady said I have to have the order in by November to ensure everything is here and ready to go on time (mostly due to holidays and what not). I am upset that I waited so long because I don't want to inconvenience anyone financially with a "hey just picked your dress, you need to buy it tomorrow" type thing.

Also, I would get all of your addresses now so that will be ready to go for invitations (which you should start doing now too lol).

I should add that I have not done any of those things either because I am a big procrastinator!

Use the to-do list on here if you are unsure if you are on track. I am slightly ahead of schedule with most of it, but I like it that way so there is less stress at the end. I have booked all the major stuff, and decided on the decor as well. I booked the florist but have not finalized the order yet.

I am not as far along as some of you ladies but I will say I just started a couple weeks ago and have choosen our venue, decor, made the guest list, reserved a photographer, started planning the honeymoon, FH's surprise : , picked the invites but not ordered them, I'm going next month to gown shop. We are in the process of picking our band for the wedding and music also. I think It's all in following your checklist. I don't follow the one on the knot like I do in my wedding planner but having a checklist helps out a lot. Good luck.

Im getting married on April 5th, and have the venue, baker, invitations, my dress, photographer, dj, we decided not to do save the dates, and we have started thank you cards for people who have helped us with deposits and what not. less than 6 months to go and i could not be any happier! starting our diy projects next month and going bridesmaid dress shopping hopefully by december!
