Centerpiece opinions

We're on a budget so for our centerpieces we are buying 36 dollar store cylindrical vases, putting three on each table and a floating daisy head in each at varying water heights. My question is thisso we sprinkle rose petals around the vases or colored gem rocks? Any ideas of what else we could incorporate for cheap?

Re: Centerpiece opinions

  • Are the vases $36 each?

  • I think she means they bought 36 vases at $1 from the dollar store. I would go with petals over the rocks for around the base... real ones though. If it's fake petals- maybe go with the rocks! or take a picture of both ideas and put that up here so we can see!

ohhhhh lol! Reading fail on my part!

You could ask your venue if they supply anything for the tables. I know my venue has mirrors we could use to set stuff on. You could look into table runners. If you like the look of burlap, they have rolls of it for like $10 at Michaels craft store.

  • Yeh our venue offers the vase rental for 10 a table but this way we are saving 7 a table and get to keep them. I forgot to add I am doing a colored taffeta napkin underneath the vases. I'm starting to think we will just keep it simple and that adding gems or rose petals may cheapen the look.

  • I don't know about the rose petals. To me, daisies imply something more informal and whimsical, while rose petals imply something more formal and traditional.  To me, they don't mix.

Our dollar store sells bags of little pieces of sea glass.  I'd try to see if any of those match your colors and go with those.  But pics would definitely help me decide.

Did u think about keeping it simple and just putting vase gems in the jars. we will have mason jars with floating candles on our cocktail tables with the clear vase gems in them.... it really sparkles and is elegant.

I would not go crazy in and sprinkle stuff on tables. If you are looking for something else maybe get simple tealight votive holders and tealight candles. You might even be able to find these at the dollar store. Amazon is also a good find for bulk inexpensive items. I bought long burning tea light candles off of amazon for a great price, and you get a lot!  I think this will look really pretty!
