Work Folks and Wedding

Are any of you doing anything for your wedding with work people? or inviting coworkers? I didn't invite any, but my fellow admin ladies took me to lunch one day. Today I was helping someone at their computer, and noticed in her email at the top, from my boss, an email titled "Orange's Card" haha. Don't think I was supposed to see that.

Also, I'm just AW this because it was changed today and I like it. My cube area was in front of another one, 2 cubes combined, but the space was wasted, so they rearranged it all to make my cube one huge one. The back area is my seating area, and the front has stuff the office uses so everyone can use that area, but it's really still all my cube. Here it is:

  • Very nice! I wish I could invite the people from my office but I can't because 1) budget and 2) wedding is on a Friday in the afternoon. I did invite my boss but she could not come due to #2.

    I have no clue what they have in store for me (because I know my boss and she's always scheming). I will probably get a card signed by everyone (I'm in charge of all the birthday and event cards so I know that's coming). But tomorrow and Friday the girls are giving me a make-over. I will have to post pictures of that. I'm terrified, but my friend is the one giving me the make-over and I trust her more than the other girls, lol.

    I invited 3 people from my work.  One is a lady that I have known since my last job and she got me this job, ans the other 2 are the ones I take breaks with.  The other ladies are less than happy that they haven't received an invitation, but hopefully they understand!  Small space and it's on a Thursday night!  I am sure people hate me, but that's not my problem!  It bothers me to an extent, but at the end of the day I am not close to any of them, there are too many people to invite and I am just avoiding all of that.

  • We didn't invite people from my work, but they are having a celebration lunch on April 5.

  • I'm currently temping and we didn't invite any of FI's work folks. They did acknowledge our wedding at their last department meeting and gave us a kitchen scale and Kitchenaid pasta rollers attachment from our registry. I'm a happy camper with that.

  • I didn't invite anyone from work. We are pretty close-knit and I felt if I invited one (my boss), then everyone else would be hurt/upset they didn't get an invite. Budget didn't allow me to be able to invite everyone so it was either none or all. I had to go with none.

    I don't think they have any plans to do anything, but I am hoping for a nice bonus from the president!

    I only invited three people from work. One that I eat lunch with every day, one that I sometimes eat lunch with and do other non-work related things together, and one that I used to eat lunch with every day and used to do non-work related things together. I almost didn't invite the last one, but we've worked together for 8 years. We've grown apart a little, but I'd like it if we hung out more. None of these three even work in my department! They have all RSVP'd yes.

    FI invited his entire shift. He kind of had to... they're pretty close since they work 24's together and it's a family atmosphere. However, he left that station and transferred to another and now half of them aren't coming. He was annoyed about that at first, but I kept saying, "Hey, that's $125 [$250, etc.] we don't have to spend!" and now he's been saying that too. The way I see it, if they aren't interested in making it to our wedding--well, now we know who IS family and who IS NOT.
  • I didnt invite anyone from work, I am an administrator and have about 160 staff, and 20 department heads and felt like if i invited one I had to invite all (well not all, but you know!) ...however, they did throw a little work shower for me which was soooo sweet and very much appreciated!!!
