Cheryl's cookies as favors

So orginally I wasn't going to do favors at all.

THEN I found the cutest little favor tags on etsy that were pretty cheap and I thought they would be a cute touch to the wedding and table setting. I bought small cello bags and was going to do hersey kisses or a mix of something simple and cheap but then I thought of Cheryl's cookies. I thought maybe I could just do one frosted cookie in each bag. What do you all think?

Question #2 - since this would be more $$ I want to save as much as I can. I've actually never been IN an actual Cheryl's store but I know there is one at Easton. Does anyone know if you have to order ahead of time, or can you just walk in the store and buy a package of 100 cookies or whatever? I also considered ordering online, but wasn't sure about shipping costs, cookies breaking etc.

Any input would be appreciated =)

We did a cookie table for our favors, and it was a hit - we just had our moms bake the cookies, and it was delicious.  If you aren't too attached to the idea of Cheryl's cookies, I would definitely suggest baking them yourselves - way cheaper and more personal.  My mom and MIL made the cookies ahead of time and then froze them, and they thawed out great - you would have never have known they weren't "fresh."

I've been to a wedding with Cheryl's cookies as favors.  Just one cookie wrapped in celophane sitting at our places at the tables.  I think they were shamrocks because the wedding was St Patricks day weekend.  Anyways, it was freaking delicious.

No idea about the ordering thing... Did you want a special design/color?

I would suggest calling them and asking.  They may also do a discount for bulk purchasing.  Worth a shot!

Cheryl's was my first job when I was 17 and when I worked there in order to place an order that big it would be in your best interest to call the store ahead of time.  Hopefully they still do big orders in the store because the cookies taste SO much better than when they come from corporate headquarters.  I love their cookies, so much so that when I worked there I gained 10 lbs!

I guess I thought of Cheryl's because it would be somewhat "ohio" since we have a lot of out of town guests. I actually wouldn't mind baking them myself.... but I'm just not sure if I'll have time. I'm off the wed-fri before the wedding, but my fiance and I will be driving all day wednesday to ohio from virginia. It would be more cost effective though... hmmmm I'll have to think about it some more. I thought about making cookies here in virginia ahead of time but I'm not sure how they would do in a (potentially) hot car ride....

Oh and I did look at the pricing online. Thanks for the link though because I don't think that I'd come across their actual "wedding favor" section. I just wasn't sure if they'd arrive in one piece if I ordered to be delivered to someone in ohio thats why I was curious about the actual store location.

We'll see.... maybe I will just reconsider and bake them myself ahead of time and hope the chocolate chips don't melt in the car haha..... ;)

I just really wish I could be in Ohio right now finalizing everything. The stress of planning from 10 hours away is just starting to really get to me as I'm trying to do "meetings" over then phone instead of in person. I just pray everything works out on our day! haha :)

I went to a wedding last summer where they had packaged cookies as favors from somewhere around Columbus, I think on the the east side somewhere, Blacklick maybe, that tasted pretty yummy. I will see if I can find out where they came from,  it might be a little less expensive that Cheryl's.
I can definitely see how planning this from far away might make the "make your own cookies plan" a little complicated.  Is there any family here in town that could make the cookies for you?  You also could keep them in plastic containers in a cooler or just make cookies that wouldn't have elements that would melt easily.  Or get some delicious Cheryl's Cookies!  They are a Columbus classic. :)

I plan on putting Cheryl's cookies in my hotel bags so I stopped by the Cheryl's Co store at Worthington Mall (on 23 right off of 270) a couple months ago and they told me that during the week from 3-5pm, they sell the cookies 10 for $10 with a limit of 30.  If you could have a few people go with you, you could buy a bunch at once.  They also told me they freeze up to 6 months.
