April 2013 Weddings

Monday Morning Check In!

Hey ladies!

I finally busted through my plateau and I am at 128 now.  So 7 pounds down from the beginning of the year!  Another 8 pounds and I would be delighted!  5, I would be happy!

Ironically, I cut all of the working out last week because I was tired and stressed that I was not losing weight and working my butt off.  I switched to 1200-1300 calories a day and not working out and started to lose again!  LOL.  I am going to continue with the 1200/day and do some strength training and forget about the cardio until after the wedding.  If I meet my goal before the wedding I will do cardio again, I will just expect to maintain instead of lose with it.

How did you ladies do?

Re: Monday Morning Check In!

  • adawn- Glad to hear you broke through your plateau!  Do you think cardio affects your weight loss but weight training doesn't?

My week was okay.  I had one major cheat day (our menu tasting) and exercised twice over the weekend, usually I struggle to get one workout in.

I think I may have hit a plateau, I still hope to lose 10 lb before the wedding at the end of April. Maybe I should cut back a bit on the exercising?  I am really trying to tone my upper body and arms.
  • Mine was pretty good! If I can lose at least just 5 more pounds by the wedding, I'll be happy. I can do the rest afterwards! But I really need to go to the gym more... I've been slacking!

  • I was definitely bad this week, but sort of on purpose. FI and I were supposed to go on a wine tour thing this weekend but it got cancelled because of the snow, which made me really sad (I was REALLY looking forward to a day of getting away and being alone with FI). So, instead, we just did a "me" day where I forgot about the diet and just went to movies, ate good food, and relaxed. I don't think I gained anything, but I definitely didn't lose. I went back to 1200 calories yesterday.

I signed up for a 1x a week pilates class at work so...we'll see how that goes. I've never done pilates before but hopefully it'll help on my quest to tone up my arms a bit before the wedding.
  • I weighed in at 144 yesterday, which is good, down 1.3 lbs from last week.  My weight has varied between 143.5 and 148 for the last couple of months.  I'm pretty stoked to keep it around 145 but I wouldn't mind losing another 5 lbs.  I was really good all week and I started back on Insanity.  One week of it down!  This week I'm going to Disney World with FI and my sister's family.  We're planning to eat breakfasts and dinners outside of the park and do one picnic lunch in the car to save money.  Hopefully it will also save me some calories ;-)  So combined with all of the walking around and carrying kids through the park we'll break even, hopefully, haha.  I have my boudoir pix this week, eeek!!
  • Jo- I am not sure.  Weight training would make me gain too I would think.  Maybe weight training is not what I mean - I am thinking of doing crunches, leg lifts, lunges etc.  Just to tone.  But, I am not sure exactly what I will do haha.  I am going to stick to the lower calories and stay away from the treadmill for at least another week and see how I feel then.  If I get close enough to my goal and don't mind plateauing, I will do the treadmill more because I know it is making me more toned, it's just not making me lose weight.  Ideally, I would like to get to 123 pretty fast and then start working out again, that way if I stay the same, I will be at my goal, but in better shape.

You girls are doing great!  And "Cheat Days" and  "Me Days" are always needed!

  • Good job on busting your plateau!  I was so frustrated this week when I stepped on the scale.  A big fat 0.  And I felt like I did everything right this week. I hit cardio hard 4 days last week and kept my calories well in check.  I've done decent and lost 10lbs since the beginning of the year but the one week I felt I really really busted my butt, to get a 0 hurts.  Thinking about changing something this week, maybe just focus on some strength training.  Still would like another 5-10 lbs to feel swimsuit worthy for the honeymoon but it's crunch time now so not sure I'm gonna make it.

Trying to keep positive and just keep going!

Just kidding!  Just ran into the store for lunch and I was at 143!  That's the lightest I've been in years :-)  Now if I could just get those last three pounds, lol.  I AM WOMAN, HEAR ME ROOOOAAARR!!
