We finally booked our airfare, so at least we'll be at our own wedding.  lol

We also found the PERFECT flower girl dress - the softness and the sash that hangs down the middle are very similar to my own wedding gown, so it's a perfect compliment!  They're from Macy's, and not a bad price, either!  The only downfall is that the sizing chart on the website was wrong, and even a call to customer service couldn't find the right size to order.  I'll just cross my fingers and pray they fit when they get here!



I'm also picking up our invitations from the printer today, so I can start to assemble them and hopefully get them in the mail by this weekend.  YAY!

AND... we finalized our flowers and reception menu and are waiting on confirmation from the baker to see if we can do the flavor combo we want for our cake.  It's all coming together!

Nice!! Can I list my checks too? Not like I have many.. lol

I finally have my hair/makeup trial set up and the person booked for the wedding.
Got my pre-marital cousneling sessions lined up so that we actually have the church/pastor for sure!
And my bridesmaids have the shower/bachelorette set up and invites out!

And that's it actually. This Saturday I'm booking the cake, and getting all the invites ready to mail out on Feb. 1.

I have my list all set up of everything that needs to be done and then just have to start gyming it!

We started our centerpieces, FI actually picked them out. He has been doing a great job lately and really helping me out - even with his crazy schedule.

We also picked out what he, the groomsmen and dads will be wearing. It was harder for him picking that out than me picking out my dress lol.

Yay for checks! I haven't gotten much done recently, as I graduated from school within the last month and moved all my stuff in with FI (finally, yay!), plus the holidays. Now that that has all settled down I am working on assembling my invitations. I got my stamps in the mail this weekend, so I have everything that I need now. 

Next weekend we are meeting with florists to order flowers, ordering our cake, and I have my hair and make up trial. FMIL is working on getting a place for the rehearsal dinner this week also.

We're all so productive! My invitations came in on Friday so I got them all mounted to the mats. I have all the bridesmaids gifts ordered and just waiting for one more shipment from etsy to get them in gift bags. I made some more progress on the blanket I'm knitting for FI's parents' gift. Our officiant got his paperwork from the city making him legal to perform our ceremony. 

I had a crisis of DIY, I finished up making my feather flower bouquets and I hate them. They are pretty in a whimsical kind of way, a little Dr. Seuss-ish but that's not what I'm going for. So I'm investigating alternatives. I'm leaning towards just going to the flower district the day of and putting something simple together.

I'm biased, but I love flowers! And if you are watching a budget, you can definitely find affordable flowers and put them together yourself. or costco or safeway! The feather bouquets do have a harder time popping in pictures

Do they have a Costco in NY?  I know for sure the Safeway is only on the West Coast but I never looked for Costco in NY...

What time is your ceremony?  Is it feasible to get some bridesmaids together and hit the flower district the night before to save yourself some running around the day-of?

Good job everyone! I'll post my checks too from this past week

-Printed table numbers, cutting and putting them in our ikea tolsby frames later today

-Made a "please take one program per family" sign and framed it into an adorable baroque frame I found in Michaels dollar bins

-Ordered glassine envelopes for our tears of joy packets ( I know these seem like overkill but with it being the middle of allergy season it won't hurt having them around!)

-Printed and framed our custom thank you note inspired by etsy

-Bought 11x14 frame and iron easel from walmart and ordered 11x14 poster of one our E photos to display on our guest book table

-Got RSVP envelopes in the mail so can start putting the invitations together now

-Went to post office and got invites measured and estimated shipping costs (FMIL graciously offered to cover this, thank goodness!)

-Booked limo

-Decided on videographer and sending the contract tomorrow (almost a check) lol

-Had my first dress fitting and scheduled next one

-BMs decided on my surprise shower date & location

-MOH decided Bach party plans, not booked yet though

-Ordered junior BM dress 

-DIY'd mr & mrs signs for sweetheart table

-DIY'd custom last name plaque for one BM gift

-Printed menus

WOW it felt good writing all that out because I feel like I haven't gotten anything done! 

Tomorrow I'm meeting with a baker to discuss my FI surprise grooms cake. I'm having them do the thing from super mario. He'll be so surprised! Pic:

Hey Ally, can you post the link to the iron easel you ordered?  I have a sign I need to put on "something" and an easel might work.  Thanks!

There is a Costco about 20minutes uptown from me, but based on their website prices I think I might do better in the flower district,  I'd love to do it the day before but there's really zero room in my apartment to keep them and we don't get much natural light. I'd be concerned about wilting.

I feel like it's doable the morning of. I'm in Manhattan so everything is close by and I'll take cabs. I only have to do my bouquet, 2 bridesmaids bouquets and maybe 3 boutonnieres (FI is 90% sure he wants pocket squares). Ceremony is at 5pm, hair/makeup lady shows up at noon, flower district shops open at 5am (although I probably wouldn't want to get there that early). I'll have my 2 bridesmaids and my mom around to help. I have no other errands planned the morning of, all my stuff will be in my parents hotel room the night before and the flower district on the way to the hotel. This is the kind of arrangement I like, it doesn't look like rocket science right? (Please tell me if I'm crazy)

I think I'll pick up some flowers and play around this week.

</div><div>This is the easel, you'll have to see if it's available in your walmart bc it's not available online. It was only 6 bucks though so if you can find it at your store it'll be worth it. If not, it does look like they have a few other options on there!</div>
