Where will you honeymoon?

Hi all! I'm getting married on April 20, 2013 and we cannot wait! The big item that's tripping me up right now though is our honeymoon, there are so many options and I just can't decide!  Where is everyone going on their honeymoon?

Hi! I'm getting married April 26th and were having the same issue! We think our ideal would be Hawaii but then we don't know if we just want to lay on the white sands in the carribbean. Price wise can't decide to splurge a little and do Hawaii or save a ton of money and go to cancun. All inclusive or not?! Ahhh there's so many decisions to make its so frustrating. Everyone keeps telling me wherever we go will be amazing and there's always other times to go to the other places we are thinking of. I seem to be having commitment issues regarding the final decision though haha I feel your pain!

We're doing a destination wedding, so we're not technically taking a seperate honeymoon.  We'll stay a few extra days in Savannah and then probably go to Charleston for a few days because FI wants to go.  Aside from that, no other travel plans for us.

Not sure where yet - we've at least decided to keep it in the USA and it might end up being a roadtrip since we live in Iowa but are getting married in Indiana. I don't think we'll decide that til later on in the year, mostly because we have to see first if we can afford it - both financially and for vaca time off work. A coworker used to be a travel agent and is really into traveling and such so she's gonna give us some ideas...and we'll go from there I guess.

I'm glad to hear not everyone has booked their HM yet, its stressing me out and I feel like I need to book it soon!  We are most likely doing Tahiti, Moorea and Bora Bora!

I'm getting married on April 20, 2013 and I booked my honeymoon last week and can not wait!! We decided to get a cabin in the smokey mountains of Tennessee! The cabin looks gorgeous and we are very excited to spend our first week as a married couple in the privacy of the woods. We're extremely outdoorsy people and although I love the all inclusive type of trip, I did not think that would be ideal for our honeymoon. We're not into big crowds of people and we wanted something more intimate! Plus, it was SOO CHEAP!  I am so looking forward to this!!!

Well, we planned a week long trip to St Lucia before we got engaged. The trip is 3 months before the wedding, and it would cost too much to change the date of it, and we would get charged if we canceled it. So we are still going! Since we don't want to do a big trip again so soon after, we're taking a mini-moon and going to Disneyland, CA Adventure and the beach in So Cal. Then about 10 months after, we have an 8 day trip to the big island of Hawaii planned. It works, we get a lot of trips in, in a short amount of time, so that's something fun to look forward to

We'd like to go to Sicily or somewhere nearby in southern Italy, but haven't booked yet either. We live in the UK so it should be relatively easy and affordable to do.

sicily is beautiful i went there many years ago but i remember it being beautiful

i am thinking of san fran to cali to vegas!! wont be able to book until the last minute..oh the joy of being a supply teacher you never know when a contract may come knocking at the door.

FI and I were thinking about P*nta Cana, DR but now I have my heart set on Sandals Grande St. Lucia.  We are probably going to book in the next month.

We are going to Palm Beach, Aruba.  FI and I wanted a relaxing vacation, but also wanted to go somewhere new and not travel for a whole day.  With the quite beach, huge national park for hiking, a big city to explore, and great snorkling, we ended up settling on Aruba over Grand Caymen Island.  We just booked the hotel a couple weeks ago and are waiting on airtran to release tickets for April next year to book the airfare - no stops and very cheap, gotta love that.

I've been to Grand Cayman. It's a great place, but very expensive.  We were there about 6 years ago and for FI and I to have 2 sandwiches and 2 iced teas in an Applebees-caliber restaurant, it was almost $50!  Aruba will probably be much friendlier on the pocketbook.

we booked Couples Swept Away in Negril....its best to book early or just before yiur wedding to save money. We booked back in May.

</div><div>We don't have a huge budget for our HM, so periodically we check Groupon travel deals to see if anything comes up that we are interested in ha ha. But most of the ones they have now are not available travel dates around the HM time, so I have a feeling it is going to be a little last minute with that. </div>

We can't decide.  We're going in the summer since FI and I are both teachers.  Right now we're between Ireland/England (plus a day in Paris) and Napa Valley/San Francisco.  Neither of us are really beach people and we can't do high heat/humidity.

We're going to do an Alaska cruise.  Since cruise season up there doesn't open until mid/late May, it'll be a delayed honeymoon by about a month and a half, but it should be awesome nonetheless.  I've never cruised (FI has, but it was in the Caribbean w/ his fam, years ago), and neither of us have been to Alaska.  I'm really looking forward to it!

We are planning on Couples San SoucI in Ochos Rios!!!  Haven't booked yet but we hope to in the next couple of weeks.  All of the Couples Resorts look amazing!

I've heard customers (I work in a call center) tell me about some of these trips. I'm not much of a beach or water person, but I feel like an Alaska cruise would be super amazing! Plus I've never been on a cruise.

Who are you going thru? Is it all inclusive? We're still working on honeymoon ideas...

All your trips sound so amazing! I am still so very confused as to where I want to go but at least it is becuase there are so many great options instead of too few  I'm currently in between St. Lucia and Antigua, though I could be swayed to any other Caribbean island I'm sure!

Kamakanani-enjoy AK!  What part are you cruising?  I spent a two year sea tour up there so I can give you advice on almost all of the ports up there :-)  Before that, I took a cruise through the Inside Passage from Seward south to Vancouver with Holland America.  I laughed everytime I actually drove a ship through the IP five years later :-)

FI and I are going to Costa Rica for 10 days and staying here:

Hooray!  We both travel a lot and I've wanted to go to this resort since it opened in 1999.  His dad is helping us out a ton by gifting us the Delta Skymiles to get there and back and FI has a ridiculous amount of Marriott points from staying in their hotels for over 365 days in the last three years.  The choice was easy for us once we crunched the numbers :-)

We are leaving four days after the wedding to go to Curacao - an island just off the coast of Venezula.  We had a certain resort chain we could choose from so we started to look into all of the available locations and fell in love with Curacao.  It looks amazing and was just featured on The Bachelorette - it was the location she took her final three guys.

So much to do and in a paradise setting. I can't wait!

Jamacia is awesome - I was there a year ago and had a fabulous time - I stayed in Montego Bay but have had several friends go to Negril and thought it was amazing also.

Aulanii Disney resort on Oahu, Hawaii. That won't cost us anything since we're using Disney Vacation Club point. Dad's gifting us miles to fly either business or 1st class there and back (thanks to all his trips to Arkansas and the Philipines this year for work). That will all be about a month after the wedding so I can finish the semester at school. The night of the wedding we are planning on staying at a hotel somewhere on the beach using fi's Marriot reward points. So for honeymoon type activities, we'll just have to pay for excursions and food

My FI is living in Ireland right now so we have lots of little trips around Europe between now and the wedding for when I go visit him (I work for an international company so I got permission to work out of the Dublin office whenever I go).  Since we are lucky to have Dublin as the jump off point, we are thinking somewhere in Africa or the Seychelles (right off the coast of Africa).  Be a slightly easier flight.

So good to hear that a lot of ladies haven't booked yet!!

FI and I have FINALLY decided on Montreal. We haven't booked yet though, so hopefully everything will go smoothly there (we were so up in the air about all of the awesome places we could go for so long...)
