Ignoring Kohls registry?

So I've been registry stalking, can't help it.. Shame on me. I've noticed that ALL of our gifts are coming off the BBB registry and only one gift was purchased from Kohls. I'm kind of regretting registering there now if no ones even gonna go there. My shower is this Sunday so I'm sure by then at least something else will have been bought but what a waste.. I knew I should've just stuck with the one registry. 46 gifts have been bought off it already. So strange.. I wonder why everyone gravitates to BBB?

Re: Ignoring Kohls registry?

  • Bbb is always giving out 20 off coupons...my bridal shower had only my bbb registered gifts

  • I love the coupons at BBB and so do all my families and friends.  That is probably why people are shopping more at BBB then at Kohls.  That is why I stuck with just BBB for registering.  Think about it this way though. I am sure that you will get some gift cards and youc an use them at kohls after the wedding with their completion program.

  • I've only had a few gifts purchased so far but 3 are from BBB, 1 from Macy's(from another bride registered there that was trying to take advantage of the rewards program), 1 from the Marriott Honeymoon Registry.  No one has gone for the Dillard's or Target registries but I'm not too concerned about those.  FMIL would not rest until we were registered at about 5 places and all of the places were giving out gift cards or something to register so I just went with it.  I won't be surprised if I just delete the Target and/or Dillard's registries around wedding time lol.
  • I did not register at BBB because I was told people would look at that registry and then find the item cheaper at another store; that and I have only been there once in my life lol. I chose Kohl's because you don't need a receipt to return anything, the inserts came with a 10% off coupon and you get more discounts once your wedding is over for the rest of the items.

  • I think people go towards what is easiest. We registered at crate and barrel and macys. Although we did get a lot from crate and barrel, people gravitated towards macys. There is only one crate and barrel that is close to us in CT.

Even though prices are sometimes higher at BBB, we registered there--because people ALWAYS have a 20% off coupon (which then makes the item cheaper). Plus, they have a great return policy. We're thinking about returning whatever pots and pans we get from there and buying a whole set. It's cheaper in the long run to buy a whole set, but then you're asking guests to shell out $350 rather than $50-$100 for a single item in the set.
  • I was actually having the opposite problem - most of my items bought have been from Kohls, not nearly as many from BBB (which was my main registry). I thought it was kinda strange, but from what I've heard lots of people have had Kohls coupons lately, so i think it just has to do with where they think they can get the best deal.
  • Everyone is ignoring our only registry... :(  We have zero gifts bought - BUT maybe we will get some money!  That would be just as good.  It's just not as exciting as having gifts fly off of our registry...  Awesome that they are buying from your BBB registry though!!

I've had 2 showers already (they were out of state, so had to be super early and within my travel schedule) and lemme tell you -- ppl shop at the LAST minute! If your shower is Sunday, there will be people who shop Saturday!
Also regarding BBB, idk if your shower is local, but I had a lot more people shop at BBB rather than Macy's b/c my mom told them to -- their shipping policy is a lot better. My showers were in my hometown and FI's hometown (and we live in another state altogether) so all my gifts had to be shipped. BBB shipped them all for free!
