Florist

Okay, so I know there are lots of florist posts, but I went for my consultation yesterday and am BLOWN AWAY at the price!  I am getting a lot for the money, but definitely feel like there are some overpriced items on there.  Like my toss bouquet is $60!  Really?  I just want a few roses put together and be done with it.  I would think that would be like $25...  And, he told me that it would be cheaper to just buy my own vases for the centerpieces and bring them to him to use.  I appreciate his honesty, but for the price I am paying, they can't include a $15 vase for the flowers?  Anyway, I was wondering if any of you out there have someone in town who does this without a lot of overhead costs and maybe does this from their home so it is cheaper but is also good work?  Thanks!

It's interesting about the cost of the toss bouquet.  I am using a Cottage Path and the toss bouquet is free.  She also gave us a lot of ideas on how to cut costs for example:1.  She specified which varieties of flowers are more affordable and which are more expensive. 2.  She suggested we use the bridesmaids bouquets as centerpieces after the wedding.3.  She suggested different stores to purchase various decorations at and also consulted us on which items were a waist (e.g. sprinkling rose petals on an aisle runner due to wind). My mom and I are having Leah with A Cottage Path provide all of the flowers people are carrying or wearing plus the ceremony centerpieces.  All will move inside after the ceremony to decorate the reception. All of the table centerpieces are being done by my mom and I using silk flowers.  Ultimately, we get a lot more bang for the buck by splitting the costs as such.  Hobby Lobby's 1/2 stems sale (goes on every few weeks) has been a great money saver for the flowers and Marshall's and TJMaxx rocked it with the vases.I hope that helps!

We are doing silk flowers because we figured the money we would spend on natural flowers, we could spend on something else for the wedding. I, too, have been taking advantage of Hobby Lobby's 50% off flower stems. My mom, my sister & I are doing my centerpieces, bouquets & whatever other flower arrangements we need. For vases, check Hobby Lobby's sale flyer every week. They have great sales each week!!

I may be able to give you a rec depending on the types of flowers that you want, are you looking for really detailed centerpieces or those that are simpler? Also are you going for silks or prefer fresh? You may email me if you'd like for a rec. amourtoujoursevents@gmail.com
