Changing your name in Baton Rouge with SSA

Hi ladies,

Just wanted to share that the social security office near Corporate/College/I-10 made it easy to start the name change process.  They wanted my ID and the certified marriage license (the real one, not a copy) and it took only a few minutes.  I got handed their official letter and should get my new card with my new Mrs. name in "7 to 10 business days".

I took a book and dreaded spending hours there but was in and out in about half an hour!

    Hey do they do social security cards? my fiance does not have one and needs one for our dang marriage lisence!!BOO lol and i didnt even know they had one there....

    They sure do.  I got the one with my married name on it yesterday in the mail.  I'm not sure what forms of ID you need to get a replacement card but I bet a certified birth certificate is something they'll want as well as photo ID.
