How soon is everyone mailing out invitations? What about save the dates?

STDs = 6 months out
Formals = 2 months out

I maled STD 4 months out
I plan on mailing formals 6-7 weeks out.

I don't know about ya'll, but I just feel like if I send stuff out too far in advance people will forget about it.

I have about 80 of my 250 guests coming from out of state so I sent my STDs out 8 mos in advance.  My invites for oot went out 8 weeks in advance and my local invites went out 7 weeks in advance.

Most of my guests are from OOT and I'm getting my STDs ready to send out now, 6 months in advance.  I also plan to send my invites out 2 months in advance.

We sent STD's 5 months out. I wish we could've gotten them out sooner, though. October is such a popular wedding month now, and we ended up competing with other weddings (of people we don't know--not other friends!). Invitations went out 8 weeks out, but after we started getting RSVPs, we sent out some others 5 weeks out.

I know it sounds crazy, but we're sending our STD's out about a year ahead of time b/c it's a holiday weekend and a very popular wedding weekend (Memorial Day weekend). Plus, most of our guests will be traveling from OOT.  We'll send our invites out earlier than normal, too, just so people have all the information they need to book hotels, flights, etc.  I'd rather be safe than sorry!
