Engagement Party

Here is another tricky thing I have run into. I am looking for a place to have an engagement party. If I had a family member with a big enough house, I would do it there. I would loke something nice and where I can have kids since I have 2 of my own. I don't however want a mini wedding. None of my friends really had engagement parties so I'm not familiar with this step :)

What have you all done?

    What size group are you thinking of?  

    I'd look into reserving a couple lanes at Rock N Bowl and ordering a bunch of pitchers and appetizers. They have pretty yummy catering there and I think the rates are pretty reasonable.  The new location is AWESOME.

    Maximo's has a private room upstairs that has a fabulous balcony over looking decatur.  You can do open bar or just bottles of wine with apps.
