Gold Old Buggies...advice?

So I spoke with an employee from Good Old Buggies 2 months ago back and forth about what I needed for my wedding date and he came up with a price of $500.  I asked him if he could please send me an invoice of what was included.  He scribbled down everything on their letterhead and put in the price.  I asked him if he would take the payment now and he told me to call back about a month before my wedding to pay with a credit card or mail a check.  I just had another employee call me asking about what I needed on Nov. 28th.  The day of my wedding is Nov. 27th.  I then explained everything I discussed with the other employee and she told me that he has been sick and he has worked here for 14 years so they couldn't just let him go, but that he wasn't right to quote me $500.  She basically said she would give me a deal for $600.  For what I was asking for (3 carriages to bring us from the ceremony to the hotel and one carriage to bring the bride and groom back later), this may be a good and fair deal.  What isn't fair is them changing their quote.  It's also not a very well run business for them to not know my wedding date.  I am concerned about their reliability. I am a business owner and I would never take away a quote that had already been set in writing or blame it on someone else.Does anyone have any good recommendations for another carriage company.  I feel like I already made my point to this employee I spoke with that I felt like I should be honored my original quote and that this is not a good way to run their business.  It's more about the principle than anything.

I am using a 504 tours (www.504tours.com). They are giving me one carriage for two hours (6-8) for $300 dollars. The guy Andrew so far has been very helpful. I spoke with him to customize our carriage. My ceremony location is only two blocks from the hotel, so we are using on carriage to shuttle everyone to the ceremony location. Not sure if that maybe an option for you. The carriage is then waiting while we have the ceremony (non church so should be quick). After the ceremony, my groom and I are going to take a 10-20 minute carriage ride to have a few minutes alone before returing to the reception.Hope that helps.

Actually 504tours.com and Andrew are the same company as Good Old Buggies. His wife was pretty irate on the phone with me and when I emailed him about it he pretty much told me to have a nice day sarcastically. I just wish they approached the situation by first apologizing and taking the blame on their company. I would have had a discussion with them, but they basically just wrote me off or made me feel like I was taking advantage of their sick employee when I never negotiated a price to begin with.
